DC to reveal 'iconic' male character as gay

It sounds like they are making him more like he was when he was Sentinel. I rather liked that the power was contained within him. It seems only fair if he's going to be stuck with a weakness against wood.

I totally missed the humor in my comment until I came back to read this thread again. I probably should have elaborated that having his power be internal instead of in a ring like the other GL's might be a fair trade off for having such a lame weakness.

Honestly, Alan Scott? That's the best DC could come up with? I'd argue he is more iconic than Northstar (and let's not kid ourselves that this is anything more than a way to keep up with Marvel on this front) but at least Northstar has been semi relevant lately. Alan Scott hasn't been important in ages except for being the father of one of Kyle Rayner's girlfriends.

Hell, this also cements the trend that dating Kyle Rayner is hazardous for a woman's health as this change relegates her to non-existence.

I kind of liked the design of his GL outfit but I'm not sure why he needs the ring if the power is going to be inside him. Still, it's a nice update on the style of the Golden Age ring.
