Yeah, this as well for me.
Luckily, since we're still in mid January or whenever the Pendleton battle began, there's probably not a huge rush for it. Yet, anyway.

Could be the result of a leak of the earliest story reports, so you don't have all the information and presume the expedition is doomed and stuff. Then after a day or so, when official confirmation is out about the battle, your media can post a swift retraction. Though the sudden Collector side-change may call for some crafty footwork with your anti-Collector propaganda.

I think we (Shep and I) got a bit overeager and he posted that a bit too early.
That's supposed to happen while the rest of the Coalition fleet is doing orbital ops, landings and orbital fire support as well.
Consider it happening in GODDAMN UNREAL TIME (fastforwarded).
I will not post Agent Spozavik and Bragga's parts, or Pendleton stuff, until you guys have commenced landing operations. I told Shep he posted it too early.
Sorry Steve.

It's fine, I'm impatient too, but given what's happened with PeZook it might be a few days before we wrap things up and get to the landing.
Eh, Shep's post counts, it's just GODDAMN UNREAL TIME.... in reverse!

It can be in GODDAMN UNREAL TIME
And precisely what excuse is your captain going to use for opening fire without orders and away from any landing spots?
Step A: Commandar Hushy is going to say "Sorry, I can't answer this; the ship is currently under Bragulan command" and hand it off to COL Velkro.
Step B: COL Velkro then says "Bragulan law does not require disclosure of operational details. I refer you to Commander Hushy."
GOTO Step A.
If pressed hard enough; they will reveal that it's a danger close fire mission to protect joint interests on the planet.

Hope the recovery team has fast talkers when a Marine gunship is vectored in to investigate what the Sheppos are up to....
"No, he's not a real Bragulan! He's a Shepistani agent masquerading as one to fool the slavers!"
Maybe you could followup on Lonestar's claim that all Bragulans are really Humans with furry fetishes.

Shep posted it on the spur of the moment. I don't think he's aware of the time frame involved.

Um, the Anglians aren't supposed to know that there are any Bragulans involved in anything regarding Pendleton.
No one is. Except the Sheppos in the
Annapolis, and even then it's a need to know basis.

That said, Commander Hushy is probably pissed off enough at the goddamn bears to just say "Fuck it, fuck my orders, I can't take it anymore!" and at least partially spill the beans.
That's the thing about Shepistan, Only Sane Man Syndrome can set in with little or no warning...

What, you're
surprised the Shepistani contingent would exceed orders and act on their own in typically overkill fashion?

Until i hear a statement from a creditable source* that the Collectors emphatically do not support trafficking in sentients, they support trafficking in sentients.
* The Collectors themselves dont count, everyone knows they cant be trusted.

Write something with the Iduran Confederation?
I mean, writing about space pirates is fun and all, but writing it all by myself is getting a little tedious.
Maybe a civilian Iduran ship gets lost and pisses off people on the way through your customs!
Maybe you want to smash space pirates in my friendly neighborhood shoal space!
Maybe you try to play one Iduran faction off another to gain (brownie points, shipping contract, civil war, etc.)
Maybe this post irritates you so much you decide to launch a war of annihilation against me!
There's certainly no lack of avenues with which to take your next post.
Sorry for the VERY late reply. I think I might give this a shot.

Oh, absolutely understandable. I've had to delay writing a Confederation sting operation going sour because I was arguing on facebook. Good thing I'm on vacation anyway.
I look forward to coordinating with you.

Also, a question that's been niggling me... You refer to both anti-starship force, and ground forces here when it comes to system defenses. What's the split between those two different forces?
If Pendleton was a full colony world it'd have $200 points worth of space based defences and $200 points worth of ground forces. From the description of it though i'd be surprised if it was one though and the values are probably lower to reflect it being somewhat of a craphole. Then again people sent a truly staggering amount of overkill to the system if that's the case (remember, you lot originally just expected to face said planetary defences and maybe whatever ships the Pendletons could beg borrow or steal in addition) so i could be very wrong.
So, if Darkevilme here is right, Whenever a system has $### amount of "System Defenses", that's that amount in both space and ground defenses?

Better than yesterday. Nobody was hurt, today the insurance man came over and it looks like the company will pay for all the damage. Two rooms on the far side from the fire were thankfully mostly undamaged, so we have a place to move the office and shop to, while contractors do work on the rest of the building.
I'm working on a temporary catalogue of customer machines before we get the database restored from offsite backups.
And, as is evident, we already have power and internet working at the site
Thanks for asking, though.

Even the Centrality feels the need to rescue its citizens. Why? Because then they'll see too much.

Uh, Force Lord? That post does not work at all. A force that size would have been detected en route by the Coalition or by the Pendletonians and Collectors and would have been challenged. Actually, the Coalition would've seen them coming quite a ways away, since the only access to Pendleton that's feasible must go through the Bannerman-Acker Gap.
You should alter it to some special forces Ultralight or Light with a cloaking device, who's sole purpose is to extract your people.
