Sure its hard, no one said it isn't. But the warp is a fickle bitch (yes, I like understatement) and any damage to a Gellar field in real space is a travel annoyance, in the warp its kiss your ass goodbye time. The fact that the Macharius couldn't escape the Contagion by repeatedly diving into the warp means the Contagion was able to repeatedly duplicate that feat, that it wasn't just a fluke. I suspect self preservation plays as much a role in not engaging warp combat as ability.

And in 40K, insanity isn't that uncommon. :wink:
