True but when EU contradicts the films its the films that hold sway. and only in the EU was Boba actually worth anything (and was a virgin to boot), in the Films he is not much better than Greedo.Shroom Man 777 wrote:But the EU is canon.

Nice to see it degenerate into this...but since nothing further has come of it...off to the flushing it goes.

One, I don't see what being a virgin has to do with skill at killing things.Mechwarrior wrote:True but when EU contradicts the films its the films that hold sway. and only in the EU was Boba actually worth anything (and was a virgin to boot), in the Films he is not much better than Greedo.Shroom Man 777 wrote:But the EU is canon.
Two, Fett outsmarted every man and officer in the Death Squadron in figuring out exactly what Han did... And then retained enough brains to not inform the fleet, since the Avenger's crew would have just nabbed the Falcon right there, took the credit, and stiffed him out of his bounty.
Three, Greedo allowed Han to keep his hands and holster out of sight underneath a table that they were both sitting at. You don't get much dumber than that. Fett is far and away better than Greedo.
Four, the radio dramatizations are canon, are they not? In the dramatization of A New Hope, Heater threatened Han with Boba Fett, instantly getting Han's attention. Everyone thought it was a dire threat. You don't get a reputation across the galaxy like that just because of your cool armor, mmkay? Especially not a reputation to intimidate Han Solo.
Five, Boba was an unaltered clone, without growth acceleration and, more importantly, without genetic manipulation to make him submissive to orders. Boba > clonetroopers.
Sixth, if Fett has no weapons capable of disintegrating targets, why would Vader bother to tell him not to disintegrate the targets? He's packing powerful guns of some kind.
There you have it. And all referring only to canon.

That is not a contradiction sufficient to justify ignoring the EU.Mechwarrior wrote:True but when EU contradicts the films its the films that hold sway. and only in the EU was Boba actually worth anything (and was a virgin to boot), in the Films he is not much better than Greedo.Shroom Man 777 wrote:But the EU is canon.
The EU stands. And no, Fett isn't a virgin. He actually has a wife, who is also a Bounty Hunter.

Complete rubbish. If you checked the link provided earlier, you'd see that he has armor underneath his pants/sleeves etc.beyond hope wrote:Fett's arms are unarmored *snip*
The Predator's glorified firecracker shooter (and that's exactly what it looks like in Predator 2, the idiots!) is quite frankly not powerful. Who gives a shit what it did to Blaine? The dumbfuck wasn't wearing armor of any kind, it's irrelevant. It was enough to slighty scratch Dutch when it broke his M16 though

Conceded, and I'm conceding my position in this thread as well. It's not a good sign when I find myself on the same side of an argument as a VI for the second time on the same subject.Vympel wrote:Complete rubbish. IIRC the Predators glorified firecracker did more damage to Blaine then any sort of recorded damaged done to unarmored personel in Star Wars. I think that fact should count for something.....Vympel wrote:Complete rubbish. Bah stupid no edit button, here are some screen shots I took just now.
http://members.shaw.ca/dmz/debatepics/
as you can clearly see the shoulder cannon does more damage based on screen shots,Also not the "Firecracker" launcher was a last resort version of the plasma caster only ment for 1 shot.
It was barely stopped by a heavy kevlar vest and (Guessing at the type of metal.) Armoured steel plate.
Another thing that should be noted the Shoulder cannon from predator 1 is a more powerful version given to elder predators,The predator from predator 2 was a rookie and given essentially the "Noob" version.

I reviewed the scene where he placed the metal armor underneath his kevlar vest, it appeared to be around a cm thick. It's composition is unknown, but I assume we could make an educated guess on what kind of metal it would be and how strong. At any rate, the Predator's wrist mounted shooter heated red hot.Laird wrote:Bah stupid no edit button, here are some screen shots I took just now.

Except for the fact that a quick look at the SW Ep 1 Visual Dictionary identifies what looks like ordinary cloth, leather and even rubber suits can have either energy absorbent materials woven within them or have thin armor plates underneath.Laird wrote:like the infamous carbine shot to leias shoulder?:PKamakazie Sith wrote:IIRC the Predators glorified firecracker did more damage to Blaine then any sort of recorded damaged done to unarmored personel in Star Wars. Kamakazie Sith: Count for what? Boba's wearing armor. I'm sorry, but we've seen the plasma casters crappy effectiveness vs any sort of metal material. As for damage, Burning Chest Shot, Episode IV, Detention Cell scene.
Incidentally Laird, the shot that takes out Danny Glover's vest is from his wrist, not his shoulder, and of course, didn't fully penetrate.

Don't get me wrong I'm not saying that Boba's armor will offer no protection but that doesn't mean that Boba will be able to take hits with impunity.Vympel wrote:Kamakazie Sith: Count for what?
