defected ST commander survivabilty under vaders command

Post by Darth Garden Gnome »

Imagine *piett walks into vaders chamber aboard the executor* "My Lord weve detected and energy field around the 6th planet in the hoth system, its strong enough to deflect any bombardment." "The rebels are aware of our presence, Admiral Picard dropped out of lightspeed to close to the system." "He was suprised to-" "Hes as clumsy as he is stupid, Piett prepare you rmen for a groudn assault." "Yes My lord." *vader turns to viewscreen, and bald shiny dome turns to attention* "Ah, My Lord weve detected the rebel base-" *chokes* youve failed me for the last time Picard, Piett you are in command, do not fail me admiral."

I highly doubt that a Starfleet officer would defect to an organization like the Empire. Considering the fact that most of the leadership in the Imperial Navy at least seems to consist of sociopaths, a Starfleet psych screening would more than likely bar those kinds of people from service.

Then again, there have been exceptions -- but I don't remember hearing about any Captain Manson, do you?

Okay, well tell me anyone who would take a complicit role in something like a BDZ or interplanetary terrorism and extortion is a Catholic school girl. I mean, there's something fundamentally antisocial about anyone who joins an organization known for those kinds of actions, don't you agree?

The Empire is evil and its policy makers are also evil.

However people in the Imp navy need not be evil however the closer you get to the policy makers the closer you become to evil.

It changes the pronunciation, and it makes the word senseless. Vader means father in Dutch, while Vadar means nothing. It is also mispelled four times.

I think that competent officers would do well in any structured millitary environment. However, most Starfleet officers lack the amoral attitude that a good Imperial officer would require. Can you imagine the round-table discussion between the TNG officers if Admiral Necheyev told them: "Screw the Maquis. BDZ one colonial population centre in the DMZ every hour until they surrender"?

The Admiral in 'Paradise Lost' is just ruthless enough to make it as an Imp Commander (the 'whatever it takes' attitude). I also think that the Maquis-era Cmdr Chakotay might have come to Lord Vader's attention as an officer who got things done.

Picard might do surprisingly well, although I can see the number of reprimands in his personnel file for going to ridiculous lengths to avoid an armed confrontation. The Emperor valued results. If JLP got 'em, that is all that would matter.

No, VADAR is an acronym which stands for Virtually Anything Demented Appears Reasonable. It's also sort of like Radar, only produced by the natural vibration of Padme Amidala's vagina, which was surgically grafted into Vader's helmet to provide both visibility through those oversized Ray-Bans of his while lending the helmet a familiar smell with which to pacify what little human being is left in him.

So there.

No, this was the guy in that DS9 two-parter who tried to have a coup d'etat with one semi-obsolete heavy cruiser (maybe 500 crew and 100 troops maximum) and almost pulled it off. I think his name began with 'H', but I forget.
