In Green Bank WV, they have a "minimum electronics" rule, because it interferes with the Giant Radio Telescopes.
No Wifis. No radios, No Cellphones, nothing that 'leaks noise' the Telescopes could pick up.
They have people whose job is to go out and track down anomalous readings that pop up on the telemetry, and one time they tracked the source to a malfunctioning microwave.
