It looks like a Vietnam film with John Goodman, and then King Kong will show up in some way which sets him up for Avengers Kong v Godzilla. Sweet.

Definitely Vietnam Era. Looks like they'll be keeping with the idea of focusing on the humans, and leaving Kong as a force of nature beyond our ability to control.
