Considering actual porn is mostly boobs on a screen anyway... how would you do this?
I think he's suggesting the game equivalent of "porn with plot".
If I knew how to pull it off, I would. The thing is that I'm not a fan of how sex is usually portrayed in games (if it is portrayed at all), not only because it is juvenile and often insulting (to both men and women), but, mainly, because it isn't sexy at all.

So I guess what I'd like is a game where sex is an integral part of the story/game mechanics, but is not treated as "porn" (I define porn as anything you stop thinking about once you're done wanking to it).

I've played through Nut Puncher Saga recently (aka Saint's Row The Third), and although the game world is full of sex, you can't actively participate in it (technically you can, if you are the second player during coop Escort missions... But it is hardly significant enough), which always stroke me as odd... the protagonist is supposed to be this complete psychopath with an utter lack of morals, yet a line is drawn at fucking around on a whim?

Yes, I know it is all due to publishers trying to avoid societal backlash... But that doesn't stop me from wondering how such a game could be done. :)

Well, you´d need some kind of interface:

Depending on your work this video might not be safe for it.

Produce offspring and turn them into soldiers.
If you play on nightmare the female creatures you have to impregnate are Lovcraftian tentacle Cthuluhs.
Or vice versa for female players of course.

If you beat (off to) Nightmare Mode, do you get a Steam Achievement called "Ruedi Giger"?

As for what game, I'll say Warhammer 40k: The Line. Get your team of stormtroopers, go on recon behind enemy lines on some heretic world, and then go horribly, horribly wrong.

Now that I think about it.... Wouldn't playing as the Alien in the AvP games actually count as a game exclusively about sex?

While that is procreation, I'm not sure I'd call it sex. :P

Well, arguably the Alien from Alien is an armoured rape monster, and pretty much everything it does could be interpreted as allegorical of rape, so.... :?

Congrats to SDnet for creating yet another Japanese MMO of the oh-lord-no genre, then.

I think the closest thing to what you're talking about is probably a game called Kamidori Alchemy Meister.

Unlike most pornographic games it's actually a game, a Fire Emblem style SRPG not a visual novel. (quite an involved one, several maps will take a number of attempts to succeed due to a combination of multiple failure states, enemy behaviours that capitalise on your strategic deficiencies basically immediately, difficult combats requiring good positioning, turn limits, etc. You'll be glad there's no permadeath in this one).

The relationship, which includes sex, between the protagonist of the game and one of the three main heroines is critical to the plot. So critical in fact that the plot is completely different depending on which one you go with (and not just "some dialogues are different", the whole situation changes and in at least two of the plots the overall story is thematically linked to the nature of the relationship. For instance with the elf character the main concern in the relationship is the fact that elves live for much longer than humans and so she will outlive you many times over, and the actual story is about the breakdown of an ancient seal created by elves and long dead inhabitants of your city, which has been forgotten due to the short lifespan of humans, so the themes reflect each other pretty damn well.

Now, the porn is still there for porn (it's pretty tame, by Japanese standards), but it's there in the context of a 90 hour RPG and in the context of actual relationships between characters that develop over those 90 hours and generally feels more like "RPG with sex scenes which happen to be explicit", because the main draw of the game is still the game (it's like 30 hours before the first sex scene, it pretty much has to be).

(Probably the best JRPG I've played in the last five years, by the way, and the way they do relationships and sex takes enormous shits all over, for instance, Bioware)

an open world MMO/RPG of crimson skies world be awesome, wander freely around the world taking jobs upgrading and repairing your zeppelin and aircraft. fight off or run from npc police units. have epic duels between player controlled freelancer groups.

maybe you start off with just a single aircraft and the airships are in effect pilotable clan bases. one member would get the job of piloting the zeppelin around, while others man the guns or take to the air in their own fighters.

the 'bunks' available aboard the airship could act as a clan membership cap, to expand you'd ether have to trade up to a bigger airship or buy a second one.

i'm not sure how to handle clan controlled airship destruction, maybe like in the games one all the guns and engines have been shot out a percentage of your treasury falls out and the zeppelin is immune from damage in that state and you have to limp to a town with a store/repair yard.
If a black-hawk flies over a light show and is not harmed, does that make it immune to lasers?

Two questions, I guess:

-Is this game in English somewhere?
-How frustrating would it be if I am not a clever person?

Drooling Iguana: No, John. You are the liberals.
Phantasee: So extortion is cooler and it promotes job creation!
Ford Prefect: Maybe there can be a twist ending where Vlad shows up for the one on one duel, only to discover that Sun Tzu ignored it and burnt all his crops.

There's an English patch, and it's not too frustrating as long as you're reasonably good at assessing why you lost and working out a strategy to respond to it. Trying several approaches to a level is quite a common thing. You'll usually have more characters than you can have in one map (you have a limit to how many you can deploy at once, not just a hard limit but also a command point limit, if you go over your command point limit then it takes more fatigue points to move a character, which means they frequently get stuck and have to waste turns resting), so trying different character mixes is useful.

Well, I'll add it to my list of games to check out... although I have a hard time getting into JRPGs myself. Thanks for the info, though! :D

And, back to the main topic... A game where you command a starship... but you control your character in first person.... would be nice. Sort of like star Trek: Bridge Commander, but allowing players to stand from the chair and move about the ship, interacting with people and doing stuff.

A GURPS sandbox game, kinda like a souped up version of the Neverwinter Nights game.

Build your characters and NPCs, build your (destructable) environments, invite your friends for multiplayer. Enable or disable as many core or optional rules as you want.

I think I would like to see a Warhammer 40000 RPG. Perhaps set on one of the enormous decade-long wars that seem to happen everywhere. You can chose which side to play as, and you start as an ordinary grunt and work your way up to higher ranks, gradually having more and more control over what happens.

So, for instance, you start as an ordinary Guardsman on Armageddon, and as you prove yourself and level up you can become a Stormtrooper, or a Veteran, or a junior Commissar if you're feeling nutty. Perhaps when you reach a sufficiently high level you could try out to be accepted by one of the many Space Marine chapters that are involved. Have the option to turn to Chaos if you like as well, for added nuttiness.

Or, in a different campaign, you could be a very low-ranking Necron officer, and gradually work to become an Overlord or something. Or be a young Eldar warrior on a Craftworld fighting against the Dark Eldar. Ideally you want a nice long and branching campaign that takes a while to complete, so you're drawn in, and have to make choices that strongly affect what happens. Kind of like Wing Commander, where failing a mission didn't mean trying again, it changed what happened in the next one and so on.
Baltar: "I don't want to miss a moment of the last Battlestar's destruction!"
Centurion: "Sir, I really think you should look at the other Battlestar."
Baltar: "What are you babbling about other...it's impossible!"
Centurion: "No. It is a Battlestar."

Corrax Entry 7:17: So you walk eternally through the shadow realms, standing against evil where all others falter. May your thirst for retribution never quench, may the blood on your sword never dry, and may we never need you again.

I keep thinking something like Minecraft (first person, procedural generation, lots of personally interacting with everything), but in space. Probably what Notch had in mind with his abandoned space game.

Because with my idea, your victims wouldn't know what hit them. Poor redshirt. Its his off shift and goes to sleep. After a couple of hours he suddenly wakes up, unable to breathe and his last moments is seeing the starship fly away. :)

What I'd do is get the people who made Newerwinter Nights and other such games, basically RPGs based on a tabletop system and put them in the same team with Toady who makes Dwarf Fortress. And to them together I would give a task. Make me a RPG game whit loads of immersion, character creation and freedom of action that happens in an entirely procedurally generated world that evolves as I play it. Basically dwarf fortress but on steroids. Each time you start a game the world would generate, and as you travel onward it would generate further and further and further. And your actions would butterfly out ad infinitum to fill it. And to make sure it's actually playable it would come with it's own games console that's basically a rig meant to put Deep Blue to shame.

Oh and the best part is that I would base it all off FATAL.
It has become clear to me in the previous days that any attempts at reconciliation and explanation with the community here has failed. I have tried my best. I really have. I pored my heart out trying. But it was all for nothing.

You win. There, I have said it.

Now there is only one thing left to do. Let us see if I can sum up the strength needed to end things once and for all.
