May i ask what "color casehardened finish" means? I am an uneducated buffoon.
Drooling Iguana : No, John. You are the liberals.
Phantasee : So extortion is cooler and it promotes job creation!
Ford Prefect : Maybe there can be a twist ending where Vlad shows up for the one on one duel, only to discover that Sun Tzu ignored it and burnt all his crops.

It is a heat treatment incorporating various chemicals that makes the surface muti colored and very hard to prevent rust. Mostly used on firearms.

You heat metal up till its red hot and then quench it in carbon rich oil to make the material harder. You can use old motor oil even.
Are you saying you're leaving the model this colour, this is the finish you want?

Another method is to pack a piece of low carbon steel in bone and charcoal and heat it for an extended period. It makes carbon penetrate the surface of the steel. This provides a softer interior with a hardened surface.
Here she is all dry with better lighting

Nice. Is the cockpit opaque or just taped over?

She's just got liquid mask on the cockpit. I put a pilot in the seat. I am still debating whether to tint the canopy. Get some pics up later.

Is the interior of the cockpit finished? If not, and it's sealed, I'd say just tint it.

Very sweet fighter, congratulations.
