Found this decent Star Trek/Harry Potter crossover:

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6972218/1/Rediscovery

Basically, the Enterprise finds a hidden colony of wizards and things go from their. Has some mildly implausible bits, but its pretty well-written for a fanfic.

If you can stand the spreadsheet style of writing and the sheer number of giga-peta-watts, Nairda has a few interesting ideas.

B5: A New Beginning What if, after the Dilgar War the Earth Alliance higher-ups realized what an underdog the EA could be in technology and industrial output compared to the Centauri and other, older races? What if they decided to do something about it? What would the Minbari War look like if preceded by a decade of military buildup/preparation, exploration and expansion, and frantic reverse-engineering of alien technologies?

Stargate: Birth of the Federation When you think about it, the two Stargate shows (discounting universe, which hadn't started when this fic did) left on a pretty high note. Earth inherits the technology of the Asgard, Atlantis is sitting in San Franciso bay. All their enemies are dead, forgotten or uninterested in fighting except for the Wraith and, what? The Lucian Alliance? Don't make me laugh. So what's next?
How about full disclosure of the Stargate program and it's fruits, and the formation of a world government (the Terran Federation) dedicated to exploration and expansion, in a carefully planned, peaceful and basically benevolent way, of course. And the utter genocide of the Wraith. An interesting what-if.

Harry Potter and the Alien Reality for some reason there are an awful lot of Harry Potter/Stargate crossovers. This is one of the only two I consider worthwhile. Voldemort, aware of the Prophecy sends Harry to an alternate universe, the Stargate universe.

Harry Potter and the Ancient's Bane and this is the other one. Some Dr Who/Torchwood early on. Harry is John Sheppard's adopted brother. After the Voldemort issue is dealt with, Harry goes through the Veil in the Department of Mysteries which turns out to be a prototype Stargate leading to... guess.

Visited by a Doctor both the Doctor, and to a lesser extent the Master, take Harry Potter under their wing, popping up at odd points in his life to offer sage advice and helpful gifts, and setting him up for a life of adventure that will go far beyond Hogwarts and Voldemort. Draws very heavily on Classic Who, but you don't have to be an expert or have grown up in the seventies to enjoy. Except maybe the bit with the Fourth Doctor.

Formal Declaration AKA the Most Awesome Crossover Ever! In no small part because it's writer knew when to stop. Just read. Any description I could give would only detract from it.

Umm.... umm.... holy shit. There are no words, and there can be no ending. Nothing could ever possibly be written that could possibly encompass the awesome of that beginning. Nothing..

It is all that. 8)

I should clarify, of my post above only the first two, New Beginning and Birth of the Federation are by Nairda the Excel wonder. The rest are safe. In that vein a couple more good Stargate fics.

Not Quite So Young Daniel is sacked/restricted to Earth after helping free the Tollan in season 1. Rather than give up on Sha're, he decides to escape through the gate and become a wandering shcolar/adventurer in the wider galaxy. Will the SGC ever see him again?

Guarding Pandora's Box After the whole thing with Shifu in Absolute Power, there is some question over whether Daniel actually has the genetic memory of the Goa'uld, if they can or should extract the technical knowledge from him. If you have to ask which side of the debate SG-1 is on, you clearly didn't watch the episode.

Stargate ReOpened What if instead of lying about Daniel dying and burying the gate, Jack and the other Abydos survivors came clean right away? What if the SGC had a dozen times the budget, a year's headstart, was based off-world and everyone involved (including the politicians) were clever and thorough?

I didn't really watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but something about the concept of Slayer Magic appealed to me enough to give it a shot. After the Halloween special every Buffy fic seems to center around, Xander and Willow break into the Chaos Mage's store looking for useful things. They find some duds, some gems, but most especially a Magic: the Gathering deck that effects the real world, conjuring land when played, turning people into creatures (up to 3 at once) and generally making Xander a real player in the great game over the lives and souls of the entire world.

I was kind of suprised when I went back to find this was written by Skysaber/Perfect Lionheart. I suppose I shouldn't have been, it's similar enough to his other fics, stylistically. So far I haven't been turned off by outrageous character bashing or evil acts on behalf of the 'good guys.' Thought I'd warn you anyway.

This is a rather good Harry Potter fanfic in which Harry and Hermione create what is basically a save point and then stuff goes from there. It has the problems of Ron / Dumbledore bashing in comparatively small amounts and has an obvious pairing, but other than that is really good. Also read willyolioleo's other works. Really good stuff.

Maybe not the greatest works of fanfiction ever penned, but good for a laugh.

Things not to do at the SGC the unwritten rules of Stargate Command, written.

The Marauder's List the unwritten rules of Hogwarts, written.

They took down the excellent Space Marine Commandments one. :(

Oh well, the Misfits updated for the first time in what feels like forever. It seems he may be finishing the story after all. If you liked the story, check out the new bits, if you haven't read it, no time like the present.

Anyways, since this is a recommendation thread, I'll type up three recommendations and why I recommend them.

The first is Dungeon Keeper Ami, a crossover between Sailor Moon and Dungeon Keeper. Only posts by Pusakuronu count as being part of the DKA story.

So why am I recommending it? For those who aren't already aware of this story and don't mind spoilers, Spoiler
It's a very well thought out, well written story about one of the Sailor Senshi becoming a "Dungeon Keeper" due to a combination of portal accident in the first season combined with an irate Horned Reaper seeking his freedom. What follows from there is the main character, Ami, having to deal with the fallout of being considered Evil with a Capital E due to being a Keeper, consequences of angering the Dark Gods, the events/situations involving the Light Gods and surface nations, and the choices she has to make to ensure her own survival without violating everything she stands for in the process.
When I first head of it, I wasn't sure myself, but after giving it a read, I found it more than worth my time, and have kept an eye out on it for updates. The fic is still a work in progress, and it updates on average about once every two to three weeks at this point in time.

The second recommendation I'd like to make is Browncoat, Green Eyes, a completed crossover story between Harry Potter and Firefly. The humor is superbly well done and at times left me breatheless due to laughter, the character interations are always entertaining, and the writing is top-notch.

The third fic I'd like to recommend is Game Theory, which is an awesome Nanoha story. The premise behind it is a very simple one too. Spoiler
"Who dares stand between a mother and her daughter's life? Precia will do anything to achieve her goals. Even if it means accepting Fate."
What follows from there derails the entire plot and takes it into entirely new directions, as Nanoha goes from trying to seal away the Jewel Seeds as she did in canon to eventually Spoiler
fighting alongside Fate and Precia against the TSAB in order to try and save Alicia's life.
:D

The fic is ongoing, and is something of a collaboration between Aleph/Immatrael and EarthScorpion.

Huh, great story. I'm really impressed. and following up on the author, I really liked his Naruto story Vulpine. I like stories in that universe like Teacher's Glory where the Team 7 dynamic actually works for the most part.

There was another great story with that premise, and Naruto being a seal geek, called something like Myoshu no Fuin but I've never been able to find it again.

Reunions are a Bitch, where cultural, religious, political, and technological misunderstandings between the Twelve Colonies of Kobol and Stargate Earth lead to a war that goes from bad to worse.

It's like watching a trainwreck as it occurs. You can't look away from it, and even though both sides want the war to end as they know what is yet in store in terms of human suffering, there has already been too much death on both sides for either side to willingly surrender to the other, and events have already spiralled to the point where the war has to escalated to a horrific "Holy shit" point and continue to get worse.

It's like watching WWII occur, in space.

I believe Naruto: Myoushuu no Fuuin is what you're looking for. Sadly the story hasn't been updated for eight months.

The Butterfly Effect 0

A prequel fanfic to The Butterfly Effect. It was written such that you did not even have to see the movie to enjoy the story. The fic does have accurate historical references, which is pretty awesome.

A non-crossover HP fic: Strange and Invisible History. Based around two departures from canon - Harry's body gets possessed by Voldemort at the end of his first year at Hogwarts, and Hermione is the child of Bellatrix and Rodolphus Lestrange, taken from them when she was born and all memory of her removed from their minds. It's very dark at times, and the sequel even more so, but IMO it's also rather well written and approaches the concept of a world where the Death Eaters won in a fairly innovative fashion. It's not an action story, by any stretch of the imagination.

I found a really good SG fic today:

The Ongoing Journey

One of the very best Stargate Atlantis continuation fics out there. I haven't read the whole thing yet, but you will need a fair bit of spare time to read it, being as the thing has 38 chapters and 200,000 plus words. :P

That being said, it has been updated recently, and doesn't show any signs of stopping, so I highly recommend this fic to anyone who was angry at Atlantis/SG1 going by the wayside in favor of Stargate: Voyager (Universe...and tell me you didn't think of Voyager when you watched it  )

EDIT: Oh, and I found another good SG fic:

Reflections in Time

Basic thing here, is that RepliCarter won their war by attacking the SGC before SG1 could even get back to Dakara to use the weapon. That left Carter to use the Quantum Mirror, and it was damaged by the Replicators. That sent her back in time, and it goes from there. Very good fic, just like the other one I posted.

Great stories Skywalker!

I'd also like to nominate Wand and SHIELD a crossover story where Harry dies (probably) or otherwise leaves his world to end up in the Marvel movieverse, where he gets to deal with his narcissistic pal Tony and a man with some truly epic anger management issues, as well as being stalked SHIELD. Mostly I recommend it for the very clear understanding of the characters and the author's (Morta's Priest) willingness to honor the source material but not be constricted by it.

I must say, it's took me a while to work through this list which has so far been compiled and found some brilliant suggestions, so I though it would be remiss of me to not offer something to this thread.
And I'm sorry in advance if this story has already been posted in this thread.

http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3654039/1/ : Tiberium Wars by Peptuck.

description:
As Tiberium spreads across the Earth, the Global Defense Initiative finds itself facing a reforged and vengeful Brotherhood of Nod, and an even more mysterious, inhuman force that holds the secrets to the green crystal... A novelization of Tiberium Wars.
I will admit there are perhaps some very long and word-y means used by the author to describes the scenes, the author notes can be long as well with his bashing of the official novelization, it's not finished and the time between updates is lengthy.
But I can not impress how well the author has taken just the events of the game and crafted a seemingly possible world in an unending conflict with both sides being given a rather equal standing, both are given the time to shine, individual people are shown, little back stories given, their trains of thought described, only to then be killed.

Funny story Argosh. Though I've never known a DM who'd let Milo get away with his spell-prep to fake out the test potion. His reaction on learning he'd gone to a lot of time, trouble, and expense for an NPC was just hilarious, as was his use of narrative logic to drive Hermione insane because she hasn't figured out she's living in a story yet.
