Did they rip you off again?

Is it already one of your designs ?

Oh my God...do they not have any original designs anymore? If they did rip off you again that's just not cool. You'd think they would have more designs...oh well, no way to confirm it for me (I'll leave that to Fractal).

No no, that was from Blur, I believe, and totally legit. Seems my attempt at being cryptic has backfired :). Suffice it to say, you don't have to ask me to model it.

Yeah it backfired. Nice to know they aren't ripping you off again though. Yeah that doesn't need modeling, for once they did it well enough that it doesn't.

You'd think that other LFL licensees could just ask Blur for the model for some unnamed other material, but I suppose not; works for me :).

The forked ISD carrier design I've seen a few times, the Relentless from "I.M.P.S.: The Relentless" being one example.

The forked carrier design is ancient, if you consider Giel's carrier from the old Marvel comics.

Awesome. It is nice to see your interpretation of something, that doesn't show up very often.

Speaking of "doesn't show up very often", would you consider doing a version of the Sacheen-class light escort frigate? It was part of the New Republic's NewClass-program, there is only one picture, that I know of and I can only guess, what is bow and what is stern of the vessel. In other words, there is a huge void to fill ... .

I suppose hoping for download links for these amazing personal projects (ie, the Procursator or the Allegiance) is a bit of a pipe dream on my part? xD

WOW...and this is why I love your work. Something that only had line drawings to work with, and you make it look like something out of LFL. I'm really looking forward to a return to the Cap-ships now...and I really wish I could draw/model this well. I can make tech sheets (I have a lot of tech sheets...heh heh... :) ) but I can't draw them to save my life.

Suckful line drawings, which bears pointing out.

^Yeah you got that right...which only goes towards adding on to why this version of the Skipray makes me happy. Its nice to see such a little known (outside the SD.net community of course :) ) ship come to life like this.

P.S. If you want to see any of my tech sheets Fractal just ask...though I'm sure you have enough work I wouldn't mind seeing one of my favorite ones come to life.

I'm always game for inspiration, but I can make precisely zero promises of using them, or using them unmodified for a 3d model :).

^ Okay then...do you want me to email them so I can stop spamming your thread? If not I'll just put them up here or on one of my other threads. And trust me, since I could never draw them myself (or at least anything beyond an idle doodle in a sketchbook...) I wouldn't mind if you modified them, as long as the original design is recognizable. Though lucky for you (since it would take less time) the largest one I have is 'only' 2.4 kilometers.

After his models have been stolen and used without attribution twice already? Yeah, I'd daresay it is.

So, not much new stuff, but I am touching up this ship by a good friend of mine, Travis (Road Warrior). Very nicely detailed model that needs some hull armor work, which I'll be doing. All of the material in this render is his, though. The current plating is to be removed and I'll be re-doing that for him:

Take a good look, it'll be familiar later.

In other news, I have skipray and corvette galleries rendered, but haven't gotten a chance to upload yet. There's some really nice EG:W stuff in the works, but you'll have to wait for that ;P. Suffice it to say there is much large ships and death...

Hmm...interesting design. Your friend is good too (and both of you blow me out of the water...heck off the planet in skill). Looking forward to seeing more of this ship and any new models (my offer is still open...if you want a PM).

the ramp like structure reminds me of the Venstar's structure up to the bridge, even if the general hull shape and feel is more Impstar.
