3 Decades isn't that much. Are you suggesting it belongs in the same time as the Enterprise C?Flagg wrote:Aside from the fact that it looks like it belongs 3 decades before TNG even started? "ugly assed" isn't a useful critique for an artist. Perhaps you can describe it in either aesthetic (shapes, shading and lighting) or logistical (engineering and construction) terms?
Can you link to some other contest entries to show us what qualities you prefer? I just posted a bunch of examples here:

I believe you are fully capable of communicating effectively without being insulting. I also believe you haven't tried yet, which is unfortunate, because I would appreciate a good critique, and you might have something valuable to say. I'd appreciate it if you'd give it another try.Flagg wrote:
Ugly assed is as good as you're gonna get, because "turd glued onto another turd roughly shaped like another turd" seemed rude.
If I had to pick one out of all of the either out-there in fugly land, or derivative POS entries it would be Adam Schimpfs.
That was better, and the excelsior reference makes sense given your perception of it's place in the timeline. "Inelegant" is a very good descriptor. Thank youFlagg wrote:The underside ass-end looks like an excelsior, the break between saucer and engineering hull looks bad. It just overall looks like a background ship used for fill-in sopace as opposed to the flagship of the federation. Inelegant is a word I'd use. The thing is just godawful.
