Exploring the idea of a director that isn't Christopher Nolan in the current Bat-franchise means I want to see Batman & Robin, apparently. Awesome logic.
You mentioned Lazarus Pits, fer cryin' out loud. What next? Smylex and turning the water supply into jelly? Please. My point, as you seemed to miss, is that everyone else sucked shit until Nolan came about and the FANS especially need to shut up (LOL, Heath Ledger as the Ace of Knaves? LAME). Even Burton, much as I admire his work, gave us something so totally out there by comparison. Talking about another director coming about when it's clear the best thing for Batman ever is still in the driving seat is just crazy talk.

"Hey, this franchise seems to be doing well now. But you know what'd be better? If we got rid of this guy and did something else!"

And this is totally OT. I've no desire to debate the merits of other directors in a thread about Harvey's no sealed fate anyway. I don't even think I want a third film in this series. Wanting more and more is usually the best way to fuck over a good thing, and Americans are notoriously bad at calling quits on anything, so DC had better at least respect Nolan's wishes if a third film comes about, since he's not going to go mad with power like Raimi did with SM3.

Strawman alert. I have said nothing of the kind. In fact, I said the following:
Look, I'm a big fan of the Nolan Batman and I want him to decide what happens with the franchise.
I'm also not sure what to do with your unusual idea that a Lazarus Pit = Batman and Robin. I will only once again point out the name of the forum that we're posted in. The Dark Knight is not a fantasy, but the overall Bat-mythos certainly is. My point is the following: if Nolan decides to move on with his life and another, more fantasy-oriented take on the series occurs, it will not automatically suck.

This is the guy they want to use to win over "young people?" Are they completely daft? I'd rather vote for a pile of shit than a Jesus freak social regressive.
Here's hoping that his political career goes down in flames and, hopefully, a hilarious gay sex scandal.

I would have to say: leave Harvey in the grave. Dent's death underscores the tragedy of TDK and is the event which leaves Batman in a very dark place, as holding the bag for the Joker's (and Two-Face's) murders with no way to vindicate himself without unraveling the posthumous legacy of Gotham's white knight, on which both the Batman's and Jim Gordon's hopes for turning the city around are pinned. After the Joker's terrorism, the city is on a knife-edge as it is. And this is the burden Batman now carries.

Take that out of the loop in the movies, and you cheapen any subsequent film in the present series.

The Joker can be recast. Brad Douriff or Christian Slater could take on the part if need be. But Harvey Dent's death is a signal event and that's not something you undo on a whim. Best to leave him in the grave and deal with the dramatic consequences.

Rest in peace, Harvey.

People need to stop talking about Cher as Catwoman. That was the fakest, laziest "rumor" I've ever heard, and has even been debunked already. Just think about it. Nolan isn't going to cast a plastic 62 year old to play a fantasy sex symbol. Even if he did, the suits at WB would never allow it (as stupid as they can be, NO ONE is that stupid).

The damn revolving door is the reason I lost interest in American comics. Why can't DC and Marvel's writers spend the time to create new villains for the heroes to fight? What, the writers will suffer a fatal heart attack if they work on this problem? Hell, even a copycat is a better choice than having Batman capture the Joker and end his (most recent) killing spree, only for the Joker to escape from the prison/mental hospital (again) and kill more people, only for Batman to capture him again, only for the Joker to escape again and kill more people, only for...
Please do not make Americans fight giant monsters.

Those gun nuts do not understand the meaning of "overkill," and will simply use weapon after weapon of mass destruction (WMD) until the monster is dead, or until they run out of weapons.

They have more WMD than there are monsters for us to fight. (More insanity here.)

I wish that at some point Batman could accept that in order to stop Joker from killing more people, he has to kill Joker.
At the time, you might think that it's a mistake you can never undo.
Even if it is, if we kick and scream and fight like hell, we'll move forward, even just a little bit.
