Who has the pic where Han Solo's blaster blows torso-sized chunks of material from a wall? :?:

Yeah, Spock was claiming the size was less than a dinner plate when referring to blaster power

IIRC, one of the Rabid Stupid Asshole's assumptions he needs for his "Sullust-to-Endor flight took days" bullshit is his claim that the big dish-like object is pointed directly at the DS2. Might need to review his page.

Spock has proven again and again and again that he will make up ANYTHING, no matter how easily refuted by simple screen shots.

I honestly can't be bothered to debate fucktards like this myself. I already have plenty of specimens for my Hate Mail page so there's nothing I need or want from these people, and the fact is that they're just worthless Internet kiddies.

So here's a challenge for the Trektards: if you can find someone among you who has a degree in science or engineering and who can confirm it by providing a scan of his degree which would naturally include his real name, alma mater, and year of graduation for verification purposes, and he actually agrees with you, then send him my way and I'd love to debate him. Until then, you kiddies are not worth my time.

If I wanted to debate people who have no idea how to think logically or argue honestly, I'd hunt down the nearest creationist. At least they're important, even if it is for no other reason than sheer popularity.

Well, now our favorite person is lying about the content of the Trek Miss video. Apparently jumping to the side of a hallway and casually drifting out of the path of a slow-ass phaser beam already fired now constitutes 'ducking behind bulkheads'.

Since you can duck out of the way of an already fired phaser beam AT ALL it's totally irrelevant what you're ducking into and hiding behind. The beam is ludicrously slow.

And now were on to GK's qualifications.

(He and Darkstar, beings before now to me have been creatures of myth and legend. Wow.)
HND stands for Higher National Diploma and is a qualification which people can use as entry to degree courses as an alternative to A levels.
To you UKers out there: aren't A levels things you get in high school?

Yeah, A-levels are 2 year courses that take place between the ages of 16-18, or years 12 and 13 of education.

It's getting even better...Now JMSpock is on a tirade about how Graham Kennedy is better educated than most of the people here and that HND + BEd >>> BSc
When I say this is equivalent to a physics education bachelor's degree in the US, I'm understating the case if anything. It's actually closer to a physics education master's in terms of time spent if his two programs are sequential rather than overlapping.
I fear for this kid if he enters a university. He thinks of education in terms of real time rather than credit hours. I spent two years at Sinclair Community College and never earned an actual degree, but to him I would have the equivalent of an Associates.

Translated into American terms, that makes A-levels... High School Honors?

Soooo... HND = High School Honors!

I forgot to mention that here, A-levels are the culmination of high school, yes.

I bolded the relevant part of his idiocy. According to this imbecile, it's all about the amount of time you spent, not the actual content. By his logic, a 4 year plumber's apprenticeship is equal to a bachelor's degree in physics

The harsh reality is that they can't meet the requirements, so they think they can substitute in a cheap knock-off. And it never even occurs to them to wonder why they can't find such a person. Could it be that such people generally won't agree with them? Hmmmm?

That would require one of them to actually give up the safety of ambiguity and uncertainty that they constantly cloak their debating arguments with, and "come out into the open", as it were. Want to place a bet as to the odds of them doing that? :P

Thats standard behavior for Phoenix--scream, rant and rave, don't actually contribute anything to the discussion and then accuse the other side of acting like he is.

That makes sense. After all, they take all the inferior Trek tech and tactics, and recast them as SW weaknesses. Like when I read Portal {/gag} , it essentially showed the Federation ripping through the empire, which was, point for point, pretty much in the way the Empire would rip through the Federation.

Unfortunately, 'a bit' doesn't really cut it. Anyone can pick up a bit of info here or there, but it takes hard work and time to develop true expertise to the level where you can investigate, rather than just do technical applications.

In relation to that, I took a look at Spock's description of GK's education, and he seems to be arguing that a man trained to teach junior high school physics has equal aptitude as a Physics Masters. Hasn't he every heard the expression 'If you can't do, teach'? Seriously, a degree in education does not count as training in college level physics. In fact, most of your expertise comes from the specialist 2 year degree you did previously, and anything else you pick up in the topic is just what you need to teach the grade level you're expected to teach at. After all, why would high school teachers be trained in material they will never use, or to do anything more than basic high school lab experiments? An education degree certainly doesn't result in expertise anywhere near a Physics Masters, or even a Physics B.Sc.

What does "familiar with" mean, in this context? I'd imagine that if he had a university math degree, he'd have mentioned it. But of course, he hides behind anonymity, doesn't he? Just like the other 12 kiddies who make up that joke of a site.
