Oh, so that's what happens when Donald Trump's ego finally explodes out of his head.

I like what i see so far. Personally, i think that they should do with this film's trailers what they did with the war of the worlds trailers here and not reveil the whole form of whatever thing/things tossed the head, but have some silouettes and maybe a toe or whatever. Leaving us to see the whole thing when the movie hits theaters. Would you agree?

There aren't any confirmed details about the plot, other than that it's all filmed with digital cameras and it is some sort of monster.

I heard it was gonna be like the old video game "Rampage". It's all speculation at this point though.

Based on the sites, the film was speculated to be about Cthulhu, due to the puzzles possessing Lovecraftian themes.

Well we know what it isn't.... it isn't something that can't make large explosions, tear the statue of liberty apart (although last I heard it was near falling apart on its own) and throw the head about, guessing here, a tad under a kilometre...
From the semi-serious nature of the trailer I'm guessing this is not going to be something with comic superpowers ala Spiderman/X-Men which means I'm thinking something larger rather than smaller (to reach the Statue's head or at least big enough to knock it down to a reachable height). So we have big.
The fact that the head was lobbed over a fair distance whatever gave it it's velocity was powerful. This could either be directly thrown (by something big and strong) or indirectly from the explosion that was quite visible right before the law of gravitational force brought the head back to earth.
This leads to my third thought which is resilience.. or something.. whatever it was most likely survived the explosion (or taking a stab here, this'll be a very quick movie).
So we have something that is at least big, most likely strong and can more than likely survive what appears to be on par with a Moab blast.....
Starting to sound like a dodgy Japanese 70/80's flick from 3am in the morning... Now all we need is for some young Japanese girl to save the world with the help of a truck mounted, atomic powered, giant laser and we have a good popcorn flick... sadly I saw none of the latter in the trailer.

Speculation and scattered reports point towards this being a Cthulhu-mythos monster movie set against the backdrop of NYC's destruction. Wiki has been expanded since it was first posted (I would assume, anyway, given that there's more there now than there was when I looked yesterday) if anyone's curious.

The trailer looks awesome, and I'm definately interested. However, the complete lack of plot details, or even a name for the movie seems a bit manipulative. They better be able to deliver after such a big tease.
I think that's it's probably some kind of giant monster. The characters in the trailer even wonder what kind of animal could be making those sounds. I wouldn't jump to conclusions about Cthulhu just yet, based on fanboy speculation on Wikipedia. As far as I can tell, this speculation is only based on "Lovecraftian themes" at the viral marketing website Ethan Haas Was Right. Lots of scifi and fantasy authors are H.P. Lovecraft fans or have been influenced by him. I've seen Lovecraft references in everything from Warcraft to Justice League Unlimited.
BTW, why are they putting so much effort and hype into the movie, and then choosing to release it in January? Isn't January the traditional dumping ground for crap movies that the studios are ashamed of?

So you're saying it's gonna be filmed from the person's camera in unexperienced shaky hands throughout the whole entire movie?DPDarkPrimus wrote:All we know is the codename for the project. I'm not terribly excited about this as of now. It just seems like the sort of thing Roland Emmerich would direct.

There's only ONE head that matters!
Anyway, why do I have a feeling that this is one of those movies that will generate a lot of hype (especially of the Internet variety) and then not really be all that good when people finally see it? Or probably wind up as one of those "cult classics".

I'll probably care more once they have a trailer that revels what the movie is actually about.
I was far more interested in the "I Am Legend" trailer. That was an awesome book and I hope they do it right. It would be nice to have a good vampire film for a change.

This is being filmed with hand cameras, but I really doubt it's amateurs handling them. And unlike BWP, I'm guessing they actually have a script to work off of.
