Ah, I did not know that. Tres interesant. Any other discoveries will be helpful.GuppyShark wrote:MRDOD - have you looked at the init options? There's, among other things, an option to have nicknames replace the Dwarf's original name instead of being stuck in front of it.
Since it appears the vote will succeed even without me dissolving parliament and letting you all eat cake (

Warm Swamp
Dense or close to that Forest
Dense or close to that Vegitation
Terrifying (Evil, Savage location)
Contact/Trade with Humanity, Elves, Dwarves and Goblins
I also will be modding the game to add in the following:
Everything from the Mods page of the Dwarf Fortress Wiki with the exception of Fallout creatures, Maplestory creatures, or any lame shit like that. More booze, more animals, more food, let's do this leeroy jenkins style.

I vote yes and yes.
Incidentally the one mod I saw that I think is worth installing is making the pit demons drop some adamantium when killed. Because that at least guarantees that you'll have a few adamantium items to play with before the end, whereas it can all be over before you get the chance to play with it much if you just mine from the final wall. Though of course we'd be doing very well to get that far in the first place.
I change my plea to be a hunter immigrant with the ambusher skill, because you get decent starting equipment and a high probability of a glorious death trying to bring down an elephant by wrestling it after your crossbow bolts run out. But please assign me a trained wardog if you have me out hunting. I always wanted my own trained wardog.

Yes to a new location, but I'd rather it not be 'kekekekekeke! We're dying like sperm in a puffs!' and more 'Remember when that river monster attacked yesterday?' "Yeah, poor spanky. Pretty funny though." 'Yeah, nothing will ever to-OH SHIT! Jehova's Witnesses! Lock the gate!'

Damn, I leave for a while to do other things and everything changes on me. Evil evil evil people.
That said, more mhaos and cayhem can't be bad things, but I have only one reservation. I probably won't be a swordsdwarf or other militaristic sort in the next run through, will I?
That makes me very sad. I was looking forward to spending all my time beating up on the new recruits. Being the first no less. Being the old veteran sitting around complaining about all the new people would have been awesome.
*crosses her fingers for getting axedwarf or similar next time around*

Though I am voting only in spirit, I find it properly Dwarven to eke out an existence in the most adverse of locations, where none save the brave and foolish dare tread. However, I do question the whole "Sperm Option" (as Tasoth so aptly put it) with regards to naming the dwarves. We'll be down to sxxybest69 before you know it at that rate, and all the people following the thread will without doubt be dead.

New location, name people as they arrive. Let's have an anvil though. We aren't dumb enough not to go buy one from another fortress before going to a third, are we? ARE WE? Shit. Well, nice knowing ya'll.
I'd like to stay mechanic k thx.
EDIT: You could, just for laughs, make mention of the dwarfs who die before getting to our fort by giving them names of people that have been banned.

That's wonderful - I fully support this idea.HSRTG wrote:EDIT: You could, just for laughs, make mention of the dwarfs who die before getting to our fort by giving them names of people that have been banned.
"Well, there went revprez. Again. Heh."
Also, I'd like to start out as soldier in the reset; however, if you want to keep everyone where they were, that's fine. I just want to be a part of the heavy drinking and hitting people with sharp objects fun.

Aye, let's move location. And I don't mind being the animal trainer, even if I'd never do it in real life (dogs hate me

Currently, having 53 Electoral Votes for Yes, 0 for No or Abstain, and 41 for Unvoiced, we have a slight majority although there still must be 10 more votes, which will require either a Patrician and 3 Plebs or 5 Plebs alone.
RELOCATION PROPOSAL: Pending, 56% Yes, 0% Abstain, 0% No, 44% Unvoiced [66% needed]
IMMIGRATION REFORM PROPOSAL: Passes, 56% Yes, 44% Null. [50% needed]
However, in the interests of expedientiality, generation of a world will occur since by now the odds of a defeat of the proposal are rather tiny. Getting an ideal location may take some finess and time.

Since we have 60% of the votes as Yes and absolutely 0 explicit Nos, and few even that could be possibly interpreted in a liberal manner as Abstain, I'm seeing fit to dissolve Parliament and declare a victory for the Undead Swamp faction in this election. I'm sure, given that it would require a number of voters that could be counted upon the limbs of a mediaeval combat veteran, that we could have scrounged it up.
But, it being exactly 24 hours before the real end of the poll, I thought it fitting to display my open contempt for the democratic process.
This is Dwarf Fortress, not Model UN, ya pussies! Get back to work!
