Whine whine whine cry cry cry.
Your entire rant was based on the assumption that Galactica's uber shielding wasn't going to let any trasmitter get it's signal out.
Canon proves you wrong asshole.
The IFF transmitter that was TIED INTO THEIR BROADCASTING GEAR? Or the gaff where a different sharon, who did not have said memories had memories she should not have been able to have even if they were the same? Or maybe The bit where we don't know which ship sent it to the raiders? Afterall, she had time to make at least one copy of it, and while she was detained her crew was not.
The water tanks show a demonstrable weakness where by a Cylon agent can enter and send transmissions through the hull.
They blew up part of the shielding there that would have stopped the signal. This is incredibly different from penetrating all of the shielding to get it out. I guess you weren't pretending.

Thankyou for answering that question.

I can only assume that you are responding to a post that you (evidently) didn't quote;
What 'tied'? IIRC in was attached to the base of the DRADIS dsiplay, and was removed with a screw driver. I don't recall any loose wires hanging out, and since Galactica is networkless, it's also wireless, so ...
What gaff moron? She told Helo that she didn't have all the memories, and then told Chief that she remembered everything. Adama was in the morgue alone with Boomer 1 and asked why, and Boomer 2 asked him "and you ask 'why?'" when the only person that could hear her was him.
The last one I'll let go.
So (c) I conceed, (a) you're assumption back it up with proof and (b) you discard as a 'goof' since it hurts your arguement, convinient.

Don't start tapdancing asshole. Your entire rant was that shielding that can withstand 'multi-megaton hits' isn't going to let anything out, and yet, this is proven to be a fucking made up little fact by you. The water tanks are not 'mega-anything', and given their demonstrable weakness and lack of security it's entire possible that Cylon agents can use it as a place to send their transmissions.

It doesn't even matter. She still transmitted herself out of the hull when she was shot.

No you don't understand. Ender is claiming she didn't and that the whole 'and you ask why' part was a goof. Why? Because if she did transmit herself out of the hull, then Ender is full of shit. Get it?

No, I do understand that you're right. I was specifically bringing up the events of "Downloaded" since you merely mentioned the "Why?" incident in "Resistance" and "Home." "Downloaded" has the explicit evidence that the Galactica Boomer really did transmit and resurrect.

Mea Culpa.

This discussion about whether the Cylons have a means of FTL communication that can penetrate a battlestar's hull strikes me as tangential: we know that they do from the fact that Sharon was resurrected, but that doesn't explain how they compromise the computers on Colonial fleet ships, unless you think that there was a Cylon FTL transceiver on board every single Viper that was deactivated in the miniseries (if there was, why didn't the Cylons use it until they were in shooting range?).
I think the best possible explanation is that there are backdoors in Colonial software designed to receive data that's specially encoded in a covert channel from the radio communications system or maybe the DRADIS, and that those systems aren't connected to the main computers unless the computers are "networked". When Gaeta "networked" the computers in "Scattered", most likely the two boxes we saw him connecting weren't the computers themselves, but rather hubs leading to entire suites of systems that are normally isolated from one another.

At one point I was assuming they had planted a device that was like a primitive effector system, that could basically hijack local electronics remotely and attack them. It makes more sense than the intranet idea which is completely against the whole ship SOP anyway and isn't that much of a stretch given the control Cylons have over hardware. We still don't know the full capabilities of the humanoid toasters or their tech, so a limited effectorisation of CIC computers isn't as bad as I first thought.

Perhaps the Cylons can only read electronics remotely, not affect them. That would explain why the device was attached to a column of monitors displaying information from all over the ship.

Perhaps. Until we have more detailed examples of their capabilities, such as being able to vanish at a whim or instantly communicate via FTL without any signal being detected, this is all hypothesizing.
