I like both franchises a lot. I can overlook a lot of things many would consider annoying. Hell, I even like Jar jar. I just don't like the writers attitudes on Trek. Especially that Braga guy.

ST:

God-like fanatical beings who can do whatever they want instantly ... and insist on helping idiots like Picard. (Q, this means you and that one guy on that one episode that killed an entire species with a thought).

Everybody hates technobabble of any kind, so I won't mention it too much.

Picard given all of the tough assignments, like in Generations, FC, I, etc. If Picard is the most competent of the StarFleet, I shudder to think about the rest.

SW:

Okay, so I assume most people hate Ewoks. Can someone tell me the gravity of the Endor moon, please? And why are Jawas infinitely better than Ewoks?

Jar Jar is funny. It's just that he's evil and deserves to die much more than Luke.

I'm surprised no one has said Greedo shooting first.

The end to the Special Edition ROTJ where the entire Empire (including Coruscant) is cheering the death of the Emperor.

And ... Mitocondrians (sp?)

Well there a few episodes after TOS I like just very few. I liked the Bord stuff in TNG and way of the warrior in DS9.

I like both Trek and SW.

Trek:
I especially like TNG and the later seasons of DS9, and am looking forward to Nemesis. My favorite characters are Worf, Sisko, Picard, Data, Jadzia, Spock and Kirk.

SW:
My favorites so far have been TPM, and AoTC, although as far as writing goes, the first 3 have been the best. I like the characters Han Solo, Darth Vader and Darth Maul the best. :D

Star Trek:
TNG, DS9, VOY (even though they all have their moments)

Emissary, Pt.2 (the whole episode was sisko explaining "linear time and existance" to wormhole aliens)

Data (which automatically goes with technobabble"

The Borg (find a more interesting plot device.... God)

The discontinuity of transwarp speed

No good music exists in the 24th century, i bet in the 23rd, people were still headbangin to metallica and Ozzy, while in the 24th, only classical music, and 1950's rock and roll exist. Ewwwwww

Picard: what an an ass.

Dirty TNG Klingons

Only one Starfleet Academy, across 8000 light years of territory. So, SF Academy is on Earth. Lets say your homeworld is located 3000 LY's from Earth. Thats about 2 years of travel at warp 9. Seems like an awful lot of trouble to go to college, huh?

Universal Translators: When talking to an alien species, the translator puts it into a language you can understand, right? Well, whenever an alien wants to tell you a word from his native tongue, the UT stops working miraculously, so the alien can tell you the actual word!

Star Wars:
Jar Jar Binks (although i find it hilarious that it is partly Binks's fault that the Empire happened.
US Army Infantry: Follow Me!

Star Trek - after TOS: Communism. PC.

Star Wars: Jawas, Ewoks, making Greedo shoot first (someone else brought that one up first  ), Vader looking like a bloody wuss compared to Darth Maul.

I appreciate the necessities of putting in a superb Jedi duel in TPM, but compared to Maul - Vader just kinda limps around... :(

why i hate Star Trek

1: TNG what can be said of a show in which the second episode is based on an original series episod.

2: Cpt. Picard He is the Captian of a starship but takes all kinds of bull from his subordanant officers without throwing anyone one in the brig for insubordination. can he ever solve a problem without Data and Riker?

3: Enterprise This show is a total violation of the Star Trek storyline. its only lucky for B & B the Roddenberry didn't nail down his back story better.

4: The TNG crew in Generations fails to notice a spy device in Giorti's Viser! didn't the Romulons try something similar, and someone else too. that is such a lax that it makes Star Fleet Security a bunch of MORONS

5: The Borg they started out cool but now they're just a bad note hit too often

I do not hate Star Wars, and the only thing I hate about ST is that the ST series should have stopped when Voyager stopped. Voyager was a quite thin cup of soup compared to TNG and TOS, and I haven't seen Enterprise yet...

By the way, I have noticed something strange in the Klingons' transformation from sneaky, sly and cunning to rash, aggressive and foolish...

In TOS, it seemed TO ME like the Klingons who were the sneaky gits and the Romulans were the ones who valued honour above all else... but in TNG, it's suddenly the Klingons who are obsessed with honour and the Romulans who are sneaky!

Perhaps the explanation can be found with this theory I've made, which is pure speculation - but interesting nonetheless:

In the 23th century, Klingon military tactics was dominated by a school of thought demonstrated by General Chang. However, when Chang attempted to thwart the peace process in ST6 and was killed, he was mainly remembered as a crook - which made his tactical doctrines unpopular. Unfortunately, the other Klingon senior officers were either too busy to teach at the war academies, or they were utter morons who would make Cobra Commander look like a tactical genius.

ST: Technobable, time travel, and that awful Voyager episode about the millenium gate, and that one Tuvix.

SW: The whole idea of the Empire losing to Teddy Bears, Jar Jar, and most of the things happening on Tatoine in TPM.

MMmmm strange no one mentionned the name of that horrible boy, WEASLEY CRUSHER.

I guess everyone wanted to forget this character...

I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

Well, to be honest there are some things about Star Trek and Star Wars that quite bug me a lot. This really is not going to be a list of nitpicks, ie I hate Jar-Jar or Janeway-type list (granted those are valid rights).

The thing I hate about Star Wars and Star Trek are the same: the burning desire to francize the industry at the cost of producing a quality fictional world.

Honestly, I found AotC quite lacking as a Star Wars. The acting from the characters is much to be desired, and I feel like I being told the plot rather than having it show while trying to be sold with glossy special effects. What should had been the start of the legendary Clone Wars turned into a boring social studies lecture and it seemed like film wasn't concerned with any of background behind the story. I would had liked to seen more why many of the worlds were turning towards the Seperationists, and how was this affecting the Republic? We are only told what is going on through a monolouge.

Suspension of disbelief is more and more artifical has internal realism got butchered for the sake of spotlighting the 'hero'. What I mean for example, in TMP having Anakin fly into the Trade Federation ship through dumb luck and blow up their reactor just so they paint in as a hero in the Battle of Naboo; if this was Space Balls: the Phantom Menace I could accept it but intelligently it shouldn't had happened and the battle should had been written in a better way. AotC got worse. I don't what it's called, but I think it's a brain bug that more and more common with a lot tv and movies.

Star Trek, what really irked me the most with the latest Enterprise is the character T'Pol, and what she represents: a francises need to sell bigger boobs for better ratings, it's like B&B are not even trying to write a decent plot or story. Just whatever can make a buck (behold I state the obvious), that's sad. In the three episodes I've seen there has to be a scene where she does something to entice the horny male teen, and I just felt like turning it off.
