I think the impression was that some of the people voting on the article the last time thought there was too much interference on the part of people with a vested interest in keeping the article around, so they were going to let things quiet down and then try again.

If you 'take the fight to them', odds are it'll be looked at as the web site trying to keep it alive via advertising, IIRC the wiki rules, which would actually take away from the chances of SD.NET staying.

Vanity and website advertising. Delete. Current version already merged with Star Trek versus Star Wars, previous version was advertising, suffered from serious POV issues and ultimately was an advertisement for a website. Rev Prez 13:02, 28 May 2005 (UTC)

Maybe the best way for us to fight back here is to improve our article? More on the history of SD.net and the characters here would certainly make it a more worthwhile article as opposed to the current very basic one.

There was a version with the history of SD.net, except that spawned an enormous flamewar with rabid accusations of "vanity" and "advertising" and reverts of reverts, and everyone's favorite ass RevPrez doing what he does best. What survived the first VfD was this very basic article.
