The Grand History of SDN is Here!
In March of 2004, an organization known as the KEEPERS OF THE LORE (aka the SDN Chronicle) was created to preserve the glorious history of SDN. After much procrastination, we proudly present you with our second project, The Grand History of SD.Net, located here. While it may look insignificant right now, we promise you that it will grow and prosper until it contains the entire history of our glorious board.
This thread is here for the following reasons. First of all, it is to inform you of the existence of this project, since I know that none of you read the announcements. Secondly, it is to tell you that if you want to contribute your efforts to the cause of recording the history of SDN, you are always welcome to join (hint hint).
Have a very nice day.

I may get flamed for this, but am I the only one who thought the so-called "Weekend of Hell" was the funniest and most entertaining spectacle of the year? I mean, let's face it, a lot of the people involved had it coming.

Fgalkin, I think I have two projects that may be Lore-Worthy.
One is the Raoul Duke Jr. and TrekBBS/Troll Kingdom fiasco. That led to, as best I know, the first time the board suffered a major hack and had to reloaded from backup for other-than-technical reasons.
Another is the conflagration that I got in with Arthur_Tuxedo that led to the moratorium on Israel-Palestine debate threads. Both these events left lasting impressions.
And they may also serve as lessons, or in the case of the IvP moratorium, why we have such rules.

Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."
In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!
If all you want to do is have some harmless, mindless fun, go H3RE INST3ADZ0RZ!!
Grrr! Fight my Brute, you pansy!

This stuff is hilarious, but it needs more, content. As Arthur_Tuxedo put it, add the Troll Kingdom fiasco, and teh IvP debade. Also add some particular Ban's. That should make for good entertainment.
Brains!

Entertaining at best, worried me at worst. While it is amusing to see some of the head mods flinging shit at each other, one has to wonder if it's going to effect the rest of the board. It's like watching those Japanese government sessions where one dude decides to leap from the podium and start to put imprints of his knuckles on some other dudes' face.I may get flamed for this, but am I the only one who thought the so-called "Weekend of Hell" was the funniest and most entertaining spectacle of the year? Shouldn't the "Board Invasion History" be included?

I'm still miffed that I missed the weekend from Hell. Of all the weeks to go home from college...

Re: The Grand History of SDN is Here!
Hell, we just had a partial melt down with the whole thing recently - I'm not entirely sure of how that started, all I know is we had a debate on minorities get out of hand, a lot of flaming and division going on, and the end result of Darth Poe leaving.
That probably deserves a mention.

Re: The Grand History of SDN is Here!
Banathons aren't really very special as board events go; we tend to call it a banathon whenever three or more people are banned in a relatively short period of time. This usually happens during the summer, when kids have time off from school to come here and be idiots.
It's Rogue, not Rouge!
