Star Wreck 6 finally available for download!!!
That's right, seven years in the making, the finnish Trek vs B5 fanfilm 'Star Wreck 6: In The Pirkinning' is out.
It's time to warm up the twinkler banks!

Out of curiosity isn't the "official" Verdict that Trek would wreck the humans or Minbari but would lose to the alliance?

IMO the UFP post dominoin war with a much more militeristic fleet would be able to win a defensive war against the ISA or take on any one of its major members. But it couldn't win an offensive war without resorting to simply blasting planets into slag, which is something they just won't do. And even then the price would be very heavy.

Better than many Star Trek episodes!

"Death before dishonour" they say, but how much dishonour are we talking about exactly? I mean, I can handle a lot. I could fellate a smurf if the alternative was death.

You install a client - like BitComet - configure the connection settings, and open the torrent file.
I don't see how it can destroy your system, unless you start downloading viruses by the bucketload...
Big spoiler in the following question :
Info says they landed on Hawaii in 9000 BC, but the remains of the resurrected P-Fleet shipyards are still in orbit. Is this a goof, or are they actually in the future ?

Info may actually be lying. He looked like he saw a ghost while adjusting the scanners, before the ship went down. Perhaps he knows, but just doesn't wish to take away all hope from his long-time ship mates.

Currently off-line. The Star Wreck team is in the process of producing original music scores for the earlier SW fillms. They don't have permission to use the Star Trek music even if that's just what they did.Bounty wrote:http://oldies.starwreck.com/BloodAngel wrote:Stupid question, but where do I find the Star Wrecks before this one? If you can use the torrent, then that'd be highly recommended. Downloading a big file in a browser is bad, normally because the connection can get reset in the middle (like what's happening to you) and thus, file gets corrupted. Could be a server problem too, with so many other people downloading the file.Erik von Nein wrote:Does anyone else have the problem of getting to a certain point in the download where it just stops and claims it's complete? It's happened to me twice now.

I loved it, I've waited a long time, and it was worth it
The plot was entertaining, it was funny, the production values were great (especially considering nearly everything was shot infront of one small blue screen--but great anyway), there was much fragfest
and they even managed to make more sense of Trek's tecknology than Trek did itself (case in point sweeping Twinkler beams over targets)!
Even the acting was surprisingly good, perhaps not understanding the language helps smooth it over, but it was never cring-inducing. Very, very good

The endless speeches of the Babel guy were gold."More entertaining than many Star Trek episodes" would seem to be a fair verdict.

I have to say it was worth watching. Entertaining, and better than some Trek episodes. However the fact that it was a parody gives it some advantage in terms of jokes, for example Mr GerryBrandy (Mr Garibaldi was an ex- alcoholic in B5), John Sherrpie with his propensity to make Sheriden like speeches at the most inappropriate times etc.

What's with the Soviet national anthem in the background of the first teaser?

It's Rogue, not Rouge!

The words in the anthem, however, praise Emperor Pirk and his accomplishments.
I had been waiting for this movie since 1999, but I had managed to keep my expectations at realistic level. It was an entertaining flick, although huge part of the humour is lost in translation. Many of the jokes, too, are related to local phenomenons and things.
Quality of acting varied quite a lot throughout the film. While not the best actor, Samuli Torssonen, the creator of Star Wreck, is very suited for Pirk's part. He was quite excellent in the beginning at the hamburger joint ("I'm from the future!"
).
However, I'd say that the easily the best performance was done by Babel 13's security chief ("Johnny! Take it easy!") and Kickstart's chief engineer, who speaks with a very thick and funny Southwest Finnish accent -- an awesome parody on Scotty.
All the bluescreen effects were quite an accomplishment, when you consider that this was their "studio": http://www-fi.starwreck.com/images/faq_ ... _thumb.jpg
Is the movie worth watching?
Hell yeah.
Star Wreck VI is among the best fanfilms I've ever seen, even though as an ordinary movie it's hardly award-winning stuff.
Some minor detail:

Ivanovitsa definitely ain't a virgin and voyeurism is one of Garybrandy's hobbies. (text on the monitor reads: "Ivanovitsa's quarters")
