I just hate why he has such a vehemence for deleting the entry and slandering us from afar, and I hate ComCat itself for getting us into this mess in the first place.

Votes in favor of SD.net lead by a fair margin. No worries. The vote is almost over as it is.

I know. Maybe it's best to approach it from a new angle: poking fun at the idiot you're currently assraping (augh, mental image!) and the other idiot who started this whole mess anyway :P

We could roleplay. I'll be Alyeska, and you'll be Mike, 'k?

On second thought, given my sexual orientation and the imagery you've been using, that might not be such a good idea... :P

SD.net survived its VFD for the second time.

Is there a time period where they can't VFD it, or could they put it up again tomorrow, hypothetically?

Wiki policy is that VfDs should not occur within a short time period after a previous one as it should have the same result (and as it was obviously a keep it would remain a keep). Somehow the 2 months since the last VfD has gone just barely into the enough time has passed category.

Maybe this win will give us a mandate to make the article better without fear that the new stuff will be deleted?

Removed irrelevant crap about how only a third of the forums are devoted to science fiction and fantasy.

I'd say its not so much "forums" as it is, but rather posts. There's the "top of page" forums, ST, SW, OSF, Fantasy, and fanfics. Then there's Art&Photos which has alot of scifi-fantasy images. SLAM blurs the line alot also. I think its only "a third" if you count usergroups.

edit:

I've seen this thing added and taken away:
Also due to the nature of the board. the merits of a position or the strength of a side are more typically determined by the prevailing politics of the board than by actual argumentation.
Do we want that line there?

We should modify it slightly, but as a NPOV statement it is valid. Popularity can still decide who wins more often then the truth. Its part of group think.

How about

"Also do to the nature of the board, some believe the merits of a position or the strength of a side are determined more often by the prevailing politics of the board rather than by actual debate and discussion"

Why the hell do people keep attacking sites I like that are listed on Wikipedia?

This site and another one based around a nationsim run there (Superpower Classic) have both come under attack and possible deletion on Wikipedia. If you clean up and expand the article they will have nothing to argue about. Double its size (and not with junk but real info) and they'll have to drop it.
I used to think that it was awful that life was so unfair. Then I thought, wouldn't it be much worse if life were fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them? So, now I take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe. ~Marcus Cole, Babylon 5

The problems of the world cannot possibly be solved by skeptics or cynics whose horizons are limited by the obvious realities. We need men who can dream of things that never were and ask "why not?" ~John F Kennedy Jr, 1963

Pay attention. The vote ended. Look in the discussion page. The VFD got archived.

Someone just tried posting a VFD on the SD.net entry again. However the idiot managed to post the original VFD which was already closed. He also ignored the fact that the article survived two VFDs, one less then a month ago. Removed the VFD tag. Hopefuly he gets the picture.

Oh look at this jerk who has put us up for deletion. Our community is evidently not good enough, but apparently his article on 'reality based community' actually serves a meaningful purpose.
