Simply put, who is your favorite actor or actress to portray the Prince of Darkness on either the big screen or the small screen?

My nomination is for Al Pacino in The Devil's Advocate

Elizabeth Hurley in Bedazzled, because she was quite literally hot as hell.

Also Pacino ... his rant on god the 'absentee landlord' is a classic.

Elizabeth Hurley would certainly be able to get me to sign over my soul. :D

I like Al Pacino's version the best because he's the most complex and not sterotypically eeeeeeevil like so many Devils. I'm not saying that he isn't evil, he does some seriously fucked up things and does a lot of maninuplating while claiming he's letting people make their own choices, but he's not "mwahahaha evil" like so many Devils.

Gabriel Byrne as "the Man" in End of Days was cool but not as good as Pacino and part of that is because he comes across much more just out and out evil. Piss him off and he puts his hand through your head. Torture, no problem. Banging a mother and daughter at the same time, no problem. Okay, maybe there's nothing wrong with that last part but merging them into one person was just creepy. :)

Although it's not a Hollywood version I liked Will Ferrel's Devil in the sketch with Garth Brooks. Garth Brooks sold his sould to the Devil for a hit song except the Devils sucked major ass and couldn't come up with anything approaching good music.

Flanders as the Devil in the Simpson's Treehouse of Horror episodes is also a classic.

Tim Curry as Darkness in Legend is the coolest "Devil" looking character to be on the screen.

I second Liz Hurley, a bitter, bored, sarcastic and cynical devil who takes time out to fuck with the average man.

I really like South Park's Satan and his soft spot for Saddam.

I have to go with Al Pacino as best Hollywood Satan: what better or more natural choice than a corporate lawyer?

A good runner-up would be David Warner's Ultimate Evil character from the movie Time Bandits.

Viggo Mortensen in "The Prophecy" is one of my favorites.

John Glover in Brimstone. He played ol' Nick as a cross between Willy Wonka and Alice Cooper and stole every scene he was in

Al Pacino in The Devil's Advocate. He's just so smooth. A close runner up is Linda Blair.

Meh, Al was good for drama but Vigo Mortenson (sp?) in The Prophecy was truely creepy. Gabriel Byrne was really good too in End of Days.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

I'd agree. That's good stuff. It's nice to think of him as having more of a personality :D
"The rest of the poem plays upon that pun. On the contrary, says Catullus, although my verses are soft (molliculi ac parum pudici in line 8, reversing the play on words), they can arouse even limp old men. Should Furius and Aurelius have any remaining doubts about Catullus' virility, he offers to fuck them anally and orally to prove otherwise." - Catullus 16, Wikipedia

Seriously, I'd have to agree with Al Pacino's devil.

Pacino, mainly because I can't think of any other serious portrayals.

- He's a lawyer. Best lawyer joke ever, and they get it to make sense too.
- He seems like a cool guy, despite his absolute hatred for everything and everyone. Makes sense for the Father of Lies.
- He's Al Pacino. Did you expect anything less?

Al Pacino first, then the guy from "End of Days". I don't really watch "Devil" movies, so my knowledge is pretty limited about anything else.

David Warner was very good in Time Bandits
Viggo Mortensen in "The Prophecy" had an excellent rather more serious take on the role.

Technically he wasn’t the devil as much as he was raw evil, but he was very good.
Also Elizabeth Hurley in “Bedazzled” was very nice  .

Al Pacino in The Devil's Advocate
Let me give you a little inside information about God. God likes to watch. He's a prankster. Think about it. He gives man instincts. He gives you this extraordinary gift, and then what does He do, I swear for His own amusement, his own private, cosmic gag reel, He sets the rules in opposition. It's the goof of all time. Look but don't touch. Touch, but don't taste. Taste, don't swallow. Ahaha. And while you're jumpin' from one foot to the next, what is he doing? He's laughin' His sick, fuckin' ass off. He's a tight-ass. He's a sadist. He's an absentee landlord. Worship that? Never.
Brilliant speech
