Tobacco Smokers - What is your vice?

Post by Illuminatus Primus »

I just got home from the cigar shop/bar and I feel great. Nothing can bring a level of comradarie and good will than a couple cigars, a good two-hour smoke, and a lot of talk, be it politics, the future, plans, women, everything. Between a good CaO maduro bellicoso and a cafe con leche, I couldn't be better.

What about the rest of you?

EDIT: Too late to change it now, but regard the "Other?" option as including a combination of your choice; explain that combination though.

I smoke two different ways and not all that often.

I like to occasionally sit down with a good Macanudo (I know they aren't the hundred dollar kind but for ten bucks I feel I'm geeting my money's worth out of a potofino) and just shoot the shit.

Alternatively on deployment I go through Malboro Ultra Lights like its nobody's buisness. I know we once had the survey up tlaking about servicemembers drinking and smoking more and I can tell you that I was definately contributing to those numbers...then as soon as I came home I stopped.

To me, a good cigar has to be savored. I need a couple glasses of port, maybe a shot or two of Jack, a cool night breeze, and half an hour. I rarely am afforded these privileges, so I usually smoke cigarillos... perfect for those fifteen-minute breaks at work, for instance.

Camels. Nothing like a couple Camels and a Yuengling on the patio.

I liked camel filterless. Nowadays I do Marlboro or Salem menthol lights. Or Consulate. The 'cold' is very cooling for the throat in this part of the world, although for some odd reason the arabs don't stock menthols. i smoke davidoff lights if my lady friend is around (hers actually).

One of my favourite types are Indonesian clove cigarettes, like Gudang Garam and Djarum Super. GG filterless is fantastic. One good drag and you can feel your lungs turn black. Smoke a few of them cloves and your shit will smell of cloves. Fantastic. short of pot anyway.

Cigarettes - Somebody elses. Well somebody had to say it. :|

Actually, until I officially gave up about a month ago, I used to smoke Dunhill Ultra Mild.
After all, this is completely straightforward. What could possibly go wrong?

When I was smoking, it was rollies. They taste better than straights, more economical, but they can be a bit of a pain to roll in the wind or rain, unless you have practice.

Cigars for me. Macanudos are great, I actually like them more than the really expensive ones. My biggest favorite is the really dark ones, that are quite thick at the middle and slim down towards the seal. Man, they're smooth.
One those and a glass of V.S.O.P or calvados of sufficient age.... oh yeah...

I do smoke cigarillos when I drink, but otherwise don't.

Clove cigarettes when I'm on the go and I feel like a drag

Cigar's when I have time to sit down and enjoy it, with a class of wine or brandy or whiskey.

Nothing better than sitting down with a nice handrolled Churchill and passing the night away.

I used to smoke cloves, but I've since quit. Now I'll smoke cigars and maybe bum a Camel from someone when I'm drinking.

Menthols are fucking gross. Why would I want to smoke a tube of toothpaste?

Yeppers, quite awhile ago, actually. Wasn't easy, but worth it. I can smell other smokers now, and it's not very appealing. Also, I can actually taste food again, which is nice. Oh, and I won't die of lung cancer. That's tertiary, but still...

Menthol light 100s. Or menthol mild 100s. Depends on the brand.

Occasionally I'll get my hands on some cloves or prime times, but I can only afford so much on $600 a month.

I wasn't aware that anyone under 65 smoked Lucky Strikes.

You know, I haven't noticed a difference in the taste of food since I quit. I can definitely smell smoke now, though. Hell, I remember getting out some old clothes that absolutely reeked of cigarette smoke that I'd never noticed before.

Camel Turkish Golds, though I'm pondering switching to the Turkish Silvers.

As for cigars, I'll occasionally indulge in Cuesta Rey Dominicans.

Hence, I voted 'other'.
