Birds will try to steal my cherries ...
My cherry tree is starting to show signs of fruit ... Back yard, tree on left ... I can sit right under it in a chair, but what should I use to drive off the little fruit-stealing bastards? Especially starlings, we have clouds of 'em around here.

Cats, either your neighbor's or your own, may help. We don't really have a problem with birds attacking our cherry tree, which seems to be related to the presence of our six felines.
If the tree's several years to a decade old, I wouldn't worry too much about it. Unless it doesn't bear much fruit, there should be plenty for you, as well as the birds.

I don't know about starlings, but my parents' cherry tree gets occupied by crows and nothing really works against them.
The Excellent Prismatic Spray. For when you absolutely, positively must kill a motherfucker. Accept no substitutions. Contact a magician of the later Aeons for details. Some conditions may apply.
Shotguns work fine as well, and there are Shep Aproved! (need Pic for Shep Aproved)

Starlings should always be a high-priority target for their invasive-species status and how they brutally kill the competition. Never miss an opportunity to light one of the fuckers up!
Cats, BB guns, pellet rifles, snakeshot, pitchforks, flamethrowers; any weapon'll do. Try to acquire a BB machinegun and a clay-pigeon launcher to brush up on your antiaircraft gunnery...

FruitShield is the world's first biodegradable, food-grade bird repellent registered for agriculture.
And best of all: birds leave treated trees or bushes for the long-term, since they can't habituate to the taste.
this is what I found when I was trying to remember what my parents used on their trees and grape arbor. It is called FruitSheild
Hope that helps some
