Find the ad for the campaign here (not official site).

It's fucking disgusting such an organisation exists, I can only have pity for those living in the US.

I know it's a low quality video not from the true RIAA website, but I assure you, this is an actual campaign.

It's every bit as stupid as their "we can send you viruses or blow your PC up" threat.

Sorry, but no. It's a bunch of sound bytes and video clips cobbled together to look something like an ad.

I don't doubt the RIAA has considered DOING something like that, but the ad there is a fake. 'Tis a spoof.

You Americans and your lack of humour make me spit.

*Spits*

I know it's a spoof, I know it's an ad I saw ages back, but it just looked too tempting to post this newer one, because it soon will be the season to be merry and watch out for the elite MONKEY MEN DEATH SQUADS from the RIAA.

I doubt the RIAA has the rights to the soundtrack to 2001, as that is where the music for the begining lines was from. :D

A mod can lock and/or delete this if it has already served its somewhat limited purpose.

There is no way in hell that an ad depicting someone's throat being slit would air...

Funny though. :)

The thing is, a lot of people seem to see the RIAA doing this.

The MT.com forums, there's a load that think this is real or that the RIAA are evil enough to do this in real life.

That's impossible. The RIAA isn't even a government agency: they're just a commercial organisation.

Tell those idiots that putting a plastic bag over their heads should work better than a tinfoil helmet.

I would do, but it's too funny to stop now. :P

No way that's a real ad, RIAA doesn't employ demon Gestapo.

They're IMP Gestapo.

Once they got to the home invasion, I realized it was fake. That would probably be too gory to air as a commercial on TV without people complaining.

An eighties era MPAA anti-piracy film.

Are you sure? Because that doesn't look like something the MPAA would have done in the 80s when they were bitching and whining about the home video market. That kind of violence wouldn't have been in something like that, and the MPAA wouldn't have made an anti-piracy film, either.

It just looks like some mid 80s horror movie or something. Kinda Troma-ish junk that was filmed by the metric ton by smaller studios.
