You should probably PM this explanation to a mod if you haven't already.

To note, just opening this thread threw an alert up in Avast AV.

Okay, to put it simply: is there a risk to my security from having clicked on this thread?

I'm going to repeat the same security advice I use elsewhere.

If you're running a modern OS (Windows 10 or latest OS X) and a modern browser (Edge or up to date Chromium based browser), no. The worst that can happen is a really "blind attack" which I doubt happens.
Otherwise, you're in danger automatically by being silly.

To be more precise, on my browser, I do not have the same problematic code previously mentioned running in my browser. So I cannot comment on what Dominous quoted.

Yes. The aliens now know where you live so you're at risk of being abducted in your sleep and having your body cavities probed.

This thread also throws up a security flag on my corporate machine. I think it may have to do with the OP. Testing it now.

DA: I removed the contents of your post as well as most of the OP and the flag went away. I have your original post backed up, but I'm hesitant to restore it.

Don't, any decent IDS will jump on it with a plain text match.

That probably should have occurred to me. But the original script at sdn/resources/include/query.php will still exists and will set off virus alerts whenever it gets loaded, although I don't know when that is.

Dominus Atheos' post wasn't the OP though, it was madd0ct0r's post. DA was looking for causes for the virus warnings that madd0ct0r got and in the process found likely virus code from this website. The code wasn't functional, but it still suggests this website has been infected with a virus, even though it can't spread. This matter should probably be looked into.

(sorry if I'm just stating the obvious and everyone got it already, but I thought it's best to be sure in case there's a security problem)

I had edited both just for safety, without compromising the content of the original post (which was three different attempts at linking an image, apparently). Mike is aware of the virus issue.
