Aerial america - everyone should see that show

Post by Thanas »

Ok, so I recently watched an episode of aerial america and I have to say it was one of the most enjoyable documentaries I have ever watched. To be precise, I watched the one with South Carolina. I was very impressed with the neutral manner in which the narrator talked about both the dark and light history of the state and at no time did he gloss over the obvious problems, but he still did an amazing job regarding the massive achievements of the state.

Equally important, the documentary is masterfully shot and even better edited. At no time did I feel bored or overloaded with information, instead the series showed a lot of new information I had no idea of. It has given me a huge appreciation of several of the US states. The producers managed to take a rather boring idea (fly over US states) and turned it into something special. It is reminiscent of several other great European documentaries based on the same idea, the most recent one being the masterful the Baltic.

So this is one series I have to approve wholeheartedly of. For US citizens, it is almost entirely on youtube. I suggest starting with south carolina as I enjoyed it immensely.

A decision must be made in the life of every nation at the very moment when the grasp of the enemy is at its throat. Then, it seems that the only way to survive is to use the means of the enemy, to rest survival upon what is expedient, to look the other way. Well, the answer to that is 'survival as what'? A country isn't a rock. It's not an extension of one's self. It's what it stands for. It's what it stands for when standing for something is the most difficult! - Chief Judge Haywood
