How about naming it in honor of the late Yosemite Bear? Or would that be too touchy with people who knew him?

I might join in on this, as a permanently medicated epileptic and another ADD headcase.

I might join as the same as far as epilepsy goes, though I'm finally in a position to start diagnosing mine. Had to put that off for...years...

Changelings, Handicapped and Helpers and the triple-D one are actually pretty good.

I like Changelings, which could also be used as part of a longer name.

I don't. I've only ever heard Autistic people associate or identify with the concept of "changlings". Plus to me it has connotations of some kind of Goth club. The rest of us are "normal" enough to at least not feel like an alien among humans; just, well, Disabled and Disenfranchised humans.

I'll put my hand up for moderating such a group.

Though to be fair, I have no idea how to name such a thing.

I also volunteer as group moderator and/or token actually disabled person with a position of responsibility, if you guys think I'm up to it.

I like Changelings and the 3D one for being distinctive and easily shortened respectively.

Happy Haven and Handicapped and Helpers work too.

I do like Happy Haven. It's wonderfully positive, which is always great.

Since we have so many volunteers for mini-mod I'll withdraw my offer, I'm all for having other people manage that.

Maybe we could have a poll/vote for the name?

Change the 3 D's to "Disabled, Different, and Disenfranchised" and I'm good with the name.

Just wanted to add that Jon Stewart has an excellent interview on the subject of autism in last night's (May 13) Daily Show. Both Stewart and the guest seemed to 'get it' more than most, which I was very pleased by.
