Sweden versus Canada would be win-win for me. I'm Canadian, but I really do appreciate the Swedish players that the Canucks sent to the Olympics.

Well, that was a near brush with getting stuck with Bieber.

Say, do you want it to be a threesome with your wife? Or a foursome with your wife and sister-in-law? I'm up for either. :P

I like Celine Dion myself. Her ballads alone....they make me go all teary-eyed and shit.

They'll be having more of that on the menu tomorrow as well. Finland wins bronze with a final score of 5-0, with the US missing two penalty shots in the bargain.

Unless things pick up in a big way in the 3rd Canada seems to have the hockey gold locked up. Sweden just can't get much sustained pressure going against this Canadian defense.

Sweden played a lot like the US did yesterday. No cohesion, no effort, no spirit. They did have a few good stretches in the first period, but after that, nothing.

To be fair to Sweden they were down 2 Centers from the games themselves and Henrik was injured before the tourney. Plus, Canada has played that same game against everybody they faced and that makes it hard for the other team to look good.

That wasn't a moral failure. That was facing off against team of all-stars playing a 200 foot game. The next 2 best teams in the tournament didn't have an answer for it either. Particularly down the bodies the bodies they were by injuries or lineup choices (Zetterberg, Sedin, Backstrom, Hedman and Brodin left at home and OEL played sparingly) they didn't have the horses to play a puck possession game head to head with TC.

Yeah, losing Backstrom two hours before the game to a drug test, Claritin apparently is a banned substance, probably killed the team cohesion.

For those who like hockey and data, plus able to grok french or use google translate there is a good breakdown of the match here:

Needless to say, scoring chances at even strength of 24 to 4 is pretty absurd. If your eyes told you Sweden wasn't in this game, they'd be largely correct.
