Thanks.

A decision must be made in the life of every nation at the very moment when the grasp of the enemy is at its throat. Then, it seems that the only way to survive is to use the means of the enemy, to rest survival upon what is expedient, to look the other way. Well, the answer to that is 'survival as what'? A country isn't a rock. It's not an extension of one's self. It's what it stands for. It's what it stands for when standing for something is the most difficult! - Chief Judge Haywood

Although he was a steeler, this is a great piece by Mendenhall and everyone should go and spent five minutes reading it.

That was a good read. I hope he offers more of his personal insight as time goes on. And is it strange that I'm actually happy for him (in spite of him being Steeler who ruined my fantasy team a few times) that he was able to go out on his own terms? It seems like that is exceedingly rare in American sports, and I'm glad he was able to basically call his shot before injury or other problems brought him down.

But in less retrospective news, the Jets cut Cromartie today. Who will care for his village of wee ones now?!

Team alliances aside, I can't fault him. Going by his statements he also is not a typical MURICAN PATRIOTIC PLAYER so I think it is good for him that he is able to do things that he wants to do instead of chasing that last paycheck.

The millions of guaranteed money the Jets sunk on him?
