It's been upwards of three years since I've posted here, just because of life generally getting in the way. After stumbling back into here due to a Google search about a ship, I decided to revive my account. Looks like there are still a lot of familiar names around! Anyway, I've since completed my MA in Political Science, and after diddling about in non-profits and business in Philadelphia for a couple of years, I am about to set off to the US Navy's Officer Candidate School, so I'll only be on for a couple of months at most before I head off for that.
Anyway, just wanted to say hi, and that I'm looking forward to getting back into the fray that is SDN!

So I got sworn in, and my orders handed to me. As of Friday of last week, I'm an E-5 in the US Navy Reserve, pending appointment to Ensign in the active duty USN at the end of Officer Candidate School.
Now that I'm engaged in a minor mental freakout since it is finally hitting home, any advice from current or former military on preparing for OCS would be greatly appreciated!

Basically what Knife said. They yell to teach everyone, you're just the one they caught screwing up so you're a useful training aide. It's not personal, for the most part, and as long as you work hard they won't actually care that you aren't Superman. Just keep your mouth shut, and don't laugh no matter how funny it is.
