A musical version of any non musical film (RAR!)

Post by Zor »

And now for something downright silly.

In this thread, you are given an offer by Q which will cost you absolutely nothing in any way. Basically Q allows you to choose any non musical, non porn film ever made and have all the studio heads behind it say "Hey, a Musical version of (inset film name here) would be awesome, lets make it" and produce a Musical version of it on film. The Ring, Akira, Starship Troopers, Alien, Gone with the Wind, any film can have a musical adaptation so long is it not a Musical already and not outright porn. Once done, you get a free ticket to see said musical.

So what do you choose to have a musical adaptation

The original Transformers animated movie. (Redone with the new Transformers movies CGI)

Can you imagine Unicron singing before he destroys Cybertron?

"The Empire on Ice"!

Oh, wait, it's been done....

How about a musical "Lord of the Flies".
Something about Libertarianism always bothered me. Then one day, I realized what it was:
Libertarian philosophy can be boiled down to the phrase, "Work Will Make You Free."

In Libertarianism, there is no Government, so the Bosses are free to exploit the Workers.
In Communism, there is no Government, so the Workers are free to exploit the Bosses.
So in Libertarianism, man exploits man, but in Communism, its the other way around!

Aren't they putting together a Ghostbusters musical?

There's also Die Hard or Terminator. "Sarah Connnnor! Come with meee if you want to llliiivveee!!"

Indiana Jones. I think it would transfer really well. Hell all the movies, can you imagine Indy singing about betrayal after tossing that guy the whip? Or a soliloquy (wow I spelled that right on the first try) on his father right before going through the tests to enter the grail chamber. An entire chorus for the rip-the-guys-heart-out scene.

OOOOOOooooo! What about Patton? We could make a whole song out of "Rommel! I read your book!" or the entire speech in front of the giant American flag. And if we're on war movies, "Apocalypse Now" And entire musical number on, "The Horror."

Fuck! I wish I had the musical skill to do this, there are so many possibilities.

I vaguely remember stating on the board somewhere that Alexander acted out like The Sound of Music would be interesting.
They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

But as far as board culture in general, I do think that young male overaggression is a contributing factor to the general atmosphere of hostility. It's not SOS and the Mess throwing hand grenades all over the forum- Red

Spider-Man 3.

Because the clusterfuckage of too many plots and absurd heel-face turns would be infinitely more acceptable behind the shield of absurdity offered by campy show tunes, and a format well known for maddeningly convoluted and over-dense plots. Hell, I've half-convinced myself it could be good already!

Interesting. I feel that one could make the argument that this movie is already a musical. The movie itself intertwines the music so thoroughly that to separate it would make it almost unrecognizable.

That's not good enough. I don't want a parody in cartoon; I want an actual honest-to-goodness musical based on the movie.
