One day, Q desides once more to be an ass. As such. He teleports the entire People's Republic of China as of January 1st, 1963 back in time to January 1st 1945. All Japanese forces that were in China at the time are moved back to the Home Islands. He also convinces Mao Zedong that to stop reactionaries like Khrushchev from taking over, he must conquer the Soviet Union and bring it under his control. Stalin has no knowlage of this.

Can the Soviet Union resist the PRC's assault against the Motherland or will Stalin's Imperialist forces put an end to the People's Republic?

I think the Russians would use the scorched earth plan and give up huge chunks of wilderness. Then, when the Chinese overextend themselves, they get smashed by large Russian tank units.

What happens to the nukes? Didn't the Soviet Union have nukes back then?

Not until '49 IIRC.

The Chinese are still a year from the bomb, and the USSR probably has twenty five times the heavy industry if not more. The Chinese could prevent a total Soviet takeover through endless attrition, but the Soviets would still be able to capture large areas of land whenever they chose. Manchuria would be toast, crippling or capturing most of the industry China does have.

The Chinese airforce would simply chew up any Russian attempt at invasion (jet fighters will trump propeller ones any day), while I'd be surprised if the PRC could do anything more than gobble up Mongolia and some of the border territories, given the lousy state of transportation in Russia and the lack of any extended logistical capabilities on the part of the PLA.

Chinese T54 tanks would also badly outclass the T34s and China had a fair amount of surplus IS-2s.

China can't invade Russia.

Russia can invade, but cannot occupy because of manpower attrition.

Stalemate.

An F-6 or F-7 is a just a tad bit more formidable of a jet fighter then a Me262; but it won’t matter because the Chinese don’t have many of them and the ground attack capability is limited. The Soviets have plenty of flak and plenty of experience fighting while under intensive air attacks

What was the difference in population, 200 million vs 600?
