How much do you pay for fuel?
The question struck me as I was slipping past the local petrol station and read the big sign - what are the prices like in other places? Currently, petrol sits around one dollar and thirty cents in Tasmania (Hobart area, at least). What about the rest of you?

Cheapest petrol in Lancaster, UK is 88.9p per litre, that's about 5.75 dollars per gallon unless I did my maths wrong. It is early, I can be forgiven.

According to that site the lowest strait-up price is $2.33 per gallon with the hightest price being $2.66 per gallon.
It looks like the places where I usually buy gas (Circle K) are charging about $2.45 per gallon
So I'm paying about 65¢ per liter if I did the math right.
So about 0.54€ and 0.90AUD per liter.
This is for Regular Unleaded which is supposed to average out at about 87 octane IIRC.

The average price here in New York from newyorkgasprices.com is $2.67 per gallon which comes about to be $0.70 per liter or 0.57 Euros.
I have almost reached the regrettable conclusion that the Negro's great stumbling block in his stride toward freedom is not the White Citizen's Counciler or the Ku Klux Klanner, but the white moderate, who is more devoted to "order" than to justice; who constantly says: "I agree with you in the goal you seek, but I cannot agree with your methods of direct action"; who paternalistically believes he can set the timetable for another man's freedom; who lives by a mythical concept of time and who constantly advises the Negro to wait for a "more convenient season."

Any city gets what it admires, will pay for, and, ultimately, deserves…We want and deserve tin-can architecture in a tinhorn culture. Generally, 88p a litre is the normal price, however, there's a garage in chorley that sells it at 99.9p a litre (as high as the three digit reader would go), as recent as two weeks ago. I was appalled, but I needed to put some in.
I've heard horror stories from the TV of places having it as high as £1.15 a litre.

$2.50/gallon here in the crotch of the Industrial Midwest.
A Government founded upon justice, and recognizing the equal rights of all men; claiming higher authority for existence, or sanction for its laws, that nature, reason, and the regularly ascertained will of the people; steadily refusing to put its sword and purse in the service of any religious creed or family is a standing offense to most of the Governments of the world, and to some narrow and bigoted people among ourselves.

$2.49 for Regular in lovely upstate NY
"A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals and you know it. Fifteen hundred years ago everybody knew the Earth was the center of the universe. Five hundred years ago, everybody knew the Earth was flat, and fifteen minutes ago, you knew that humans were alone on this planet. Imagine what you'll know...tomorrow."
