...of Finance anyway. Yes, my timing is classic. This seemed like a good idea a couple years ago when I started the program.

One wonders why we don't just have a thread of people posting scans of their degrees. :D

Another few days like this and there may be plenty of openings due to defenestration.

congrats on graduating!

 I can tell that my eyes need to be checked now. Because when I opened that link and looked at the school seal to see what it said, I missed the word "Utah" on the upper portion of the seal and thought the letters "MDCCCL" on the bottom said "MAGOO".... "University of Magoo" had me all :wtf:

Finance is a Master of Science degree? :wtf: Since when has there been any science in the voodoo of economics and related fields?

(Not to put you down, but I'd have thought it'd be more a Master of Art degree.)

I'd certainly be in favor of that thread.

Servo, what's the difference in curriculum and application of a MS in finance and an MBA?

Had me doing a little :wtf: too - my masters of applied finance is technically a business degree, with applied finance major. At least the AU big 4 seem to be doing OK - although scrabbling amongst themselves for Suncorp.

Kodiak, at a guess (not having done an MBA, but for some weird, masochistic reason, having knocked over a masters and been invited back for honours in finance), the finance degree specialises in buying and selling money, project finance evaulation (like as to why NPV is "best" project valuation method), some beancounting (THAT was a mistake), and analysis. By contrast, I think the MBA is more holistic, but I will gladly defer to someone who has done one correcting me.
