My 1st thought was it was for another Independence day movie (since I heard about rumor for a sequel) Then transformers, then...

Not really, there was some heavy naval combat in mine but the plot was more land combat focussed & relied more on intrigue than flashy cgi. But getting it published now is gonna be even tougher.

So the plot is going to be flying alien spacecraft disables all the computers; but not somehow the power on all the ships, can't fly higher then 16in gun elevation and then dies? Well, it could be a lot worse but dozens Iowas in a sea of giant blazing oil rigs (for more explosions) fighting dozens of Yamato class with Iranian flags for no rational reason would be so much better.

This is a trailer which shows you virtually every death as well as what appears to be the entirety of Tony Todd's appearance. Considering this is also his fifth story about what they need to do to survive and its descended into straight up "murder some other poor shmuck", I've decided that his character is actually Death, and he keeps doing this for shits and giggles to see how much he can fuck with people before killing them.
