Good. The problem was due to my slightly botched implementation of template inherits during the upgrade. It's a new feature they rolled out a little while ago, with version 3.0.3 of the software. It allows you to instruct the software to use a template which "inherits" another template, so that if a file is missing in template A, it goes to template B to look for it.

This greatly simplifies things like version upgrades if your custom template was made by modifying an existing one, because you can delete all files from template A that match a file in template B. I didn't initially implement template inherits when version 3.0.3 came out because the templates were working fine the way they were. But when 3.0.6 came out, it had a huge number of code changes because it was easily the most ambitious point update for phpBB3. It made a lot more sense to switch my templates to "inherit" mode now, since they were created by modifying subsilver2. This way, I would be able to simply install the 3.0.6 version of subsilver (with a few minor changes for site customization), and then let my custom templates inherit subsilver2 template files whenever possible, thus greatly cutting down my workload (and the size of my templates).

Everything seemed to work fine, but I didn't realize that the "inherit" templating system doesn't work for JavaScript includes. I assumed that the JavaScript includes in subsilver2 would be inherited by BareBones, BlackSoul-SDN, and MillenniumFalcon-SDN. As it turns out, they were not. So I went into my custom templates and created symbolic links to the necessary JavaScript files, and now all is well.

All I hit was the "Off-Topic" option, which should simply take me back to the forum listing. Why is it giving me a list of Active Topics for the site?

Yeah the "Non-Fiction" tab still lists all posts for every forum and sub-forum under the Non-Fiction Banner instead of a forum listing.

I can't reproduce this problem. When I click on "Off-Topic", it takes me to a listing of the Off-Topic forum, as it should.

I hate to say this, but that appears to be a "feature, not a bug". Apparently, when you click on a category, it now lists the active topics of all forums in that category, and if you scroll down, it lists the forums themselves.

The HTML2BBCode converter still isn't working. I used to use it a lot since it was an easy way to include all links and pictures with an article.

Oops, I kept forgetting to take care of this. Believe it or not, it was a simple missing backslash in a preg_replace pattern.

Just wanted to note that validation e-mail seems to be rather fussy. It took a few resend tries over a couple of days before it worked.

I think this is a board software problem - for some reason, when I'm using the Chrome Browser, it won't let me log-in. It's not like it gives me an error screen or anything - when I type everything in and press "login"/"enter"/ the button, it simply re-loads the page with the spaces for Username and Password blank.

Board's been down the past day and a half, though I suspect Mike already knows this.

Apparently not before I told him this morning.

In addition, the board still seems a bit slow today.

Does Mike know makes the board crash for 2 days?

Was it because of General Kanadia bringing the Snowpocalypse upon us through the internet, by ravaging Mike's internets?

I noticed that the forum wasn't responding today from about 8 AM to 1 PM Pacific time, or roughly 11 AM to 4 PM Eastern. The main stardestroyer.net site worked fine... was there some database maintenance or something else happening with the forum?

I've been unable to change my password or email at all. I erased my cookies, and have entered every possible password I could have conceivably had over the past five years and still I cannot change my password. I'm basically logging in automatically with my browser. (Yes I've tried other browsers).

A problem I've been having is when using the Search function. If I try to jump ahead a page I tend to get a "You cannot search again so soon" message. I presume this is a by-product of trying to prevent too many searches too close together, but is there anyway to fix it so we can jump to a page though still not have too many searches, etc?

Am I making any sense?

I suppose caching your last search so that it doesn't have to re-search through the database when jumping to a new page (on account that it's already found the relevant posts) would help.

I'm not rercieving email notifications for replys to any of my subscribed threads.
Notifications in my profile are set to yes, the email address is in my contacts list and its not in my junk folder

Your email service may be rejecting it as spam (I have a bounced email with your name on it).

16:00 on the 28th was the last email I received. Has something been changed since then, because I have no idea why a address from the contacts list would start being bounced. Everything else considered spam just gets dumped into junk.

We went onto a backup server since the internet connection to the main was severed. That might be the problem.

I just wanted to toss in that I'm having issues with the new post emails as well. I've not gotten any in a while. Checked the spam filter and all that fun stuff.
