I don't want to think about any guy in a sexual manner, but I just think it's interesting that you can't get Shep to discuss anything remotely related to sex, unless it's condemnation of promiscuity. So asking him the question is more of a test of his prudishness. Not to humour Shep's attempt to take this thread into territory he's more comfortable with (read: away from sex), but the Imperial system is no more inherently error-prone than the Metric system. The problem is that it's horribly inconvenient for scientific calculations, because of all the stupid and arbitrary conversion factors.
