You gotta laugh in these situations mate, here's another one for you; VOLUME WARNING TURN DOWN YOUR VOLUME!
The commentators were going back as far as the '50s for a defeat as bad- I can think of a more recent one- losing 4-1 to Germany at the last 16 on WC 2010.
But dude, come on ... Iceland are a good side but not Germany good! :P

I hope that's photoshopped- any England fans that see that nearby are gonna be pissed!
I can't be arsed pretending not to enjoy this moment but (shamelessly stolen from elsewhere); The England team cost 175 million quid. At least that can now be spent on the NHS.

Honestly I'm glad England got knocked out before our Hooligan fans got us disqualified. That would have been more embarrassing.

Roy's opening statement; "I don't know what I'm doing here ... "

So an Englishman, an Irishman and a Scotsman walk into a bar ... to watch Wales play football.

:D

Yep. Hoping for Wales to win. :)

The coolest final would be Iceland vs Wales, which is theoretically on the cards, but I'm afraid Iceland won't get past the winner of Italy vs Germany even if they beat France.

YES! :D

Don't know why, but I've never really liked Belgium in football tournaments. There is absolutely no logical reason for it, but somehow that team just rubs me the wrong way. This time they were the favorites to go forward, so the underdog coming out on top is even better.

I'd love to see Iceland-Wales in the finals.

Just for the slight chance of English football fans spontaneusly igniting while trying to figure out whom to cheer for... :D

Also - these teams really got a fight in them... Would be fun to watch.

Lovely game by wales. Can't count the number of times belgium seemed to not play together and players were passing into nowhere all game long.

what a game so far. Excellent stuff, with Italy and Gemany being pretty even. Also, a very fair game.

Congrats, Germany!

Fuck. I was hoping Italy would take this one, but they missed too many penalties on the first five rounds.

We are, Thanas, but the fact of the matter is that I have a stronger emotional attachment to Italy than to Germany. If I had been to Germany over 20 times, it might be different.

Though in this case while my preference was for Italy, I have absolutely nothing against Germany and they deserved the win. :)

Regardless of today's outcome, Iceland is still my favorite in this half of the elimination rounds. If they win against France, I will be required by the Nordic Conspiracy to support them over Germany. If Iceland falls to France, then Germany will be my favorite.
