For me it sounds like a line belonging to a comedy...

That is, unless memories from my youth fail me, Legend. Can't say how many times I sat through that movie as a kid. My little sister was obsessed.

My quote is a bit long and rather obscure, but I suspect that at least a few people on SD.net have seen this particular film, in one way or another.

"He learned almost too late that man is a feeling creature… and, because of it, the greatest in the universe. He learned too late for himself that men have to find their own way, to make their own mistakes. There can't be any gift of perfection from outside ourselves. And when men seek such perfection, they find only death, fire, loss, disillusionment… the end of everything that's gone forward. Men have always sought an end to the toil and misery, but it can't be given, it has to be achieved. There is hope, but it has to come from inside — from man himself."

It Conquered the World - my dad made me watch it when I was smaller and that little speech struck a chord in me.

Boom goes the dynamite. You are 100% correct.

Also, my condolences for not seeing the MST3K version. Though It Conquered the World is halfway watchable on its own, I will admit.

Like I said, it was one of Dad's old old olllllllld films that we had to watch for reasons not known. Not complaining though, as the same film program also introduced me to Star Wars and TWOK at age four. Good times.

Now:
"You can't go mucking about in the past without creating paradoxes!"
"I'm afraid he can - it's a paradox-correcting Time Code. It all works perfectly - except when it rips open the universe! Don't do it, I beg you!"

The first Futurama movie, Bender's Big Score!
I have seen it like a hundred times (but not enough times to cause a time paradox... yet...)

Ding ding ding, we have a winner. I thought that one was fairly obscure as it doesn't mention anything futurama-specific. I mean, time travel and paradoxes could be anything. Oh well.

Over to you Lord Baal.
