I need to vent on the shadowy attempt to cute up Halloween.

Everywhere I go, I see a LOT of new Halloween decorations with cutsy faces on vampires, ghosts and witches. You've seen 'em. The "Terry's Village" monsters with the rosy red cheeks and cherubic faces, etc. in place of the HORROR, the GORE, the.....GUTS of Halloween.

Its getting so bad most stores even refuse to use the word "Halloween" anymore. Now it's "Happy Autumn!" or "Happy Harvest Season"!

Eat me, you pricks. You will NOT sully the only holiday I give a rosy red shit about.

That is all.
Allthough your halloween is not big here I will say this.
I hate political correctness. Fuck it to hell if it was a sexy blond, otherwise just evicerate it.

Hell, go on and on about it! Halloween is my favorite holiday as well, and I'd love to hear what passes for a Christian Haunted House. Especially considering I travel god knows how far to attend the really professionally done haunted houses that exist around the continent.

I believe halloween was gayed up. Last halloween, someone wrote to my newspaper editor suggesting that we don't use the vampires and skeletons altogether! This is Halloween, and if you think it's scary, you're a Hallow-weenie!

Whoever it is deserves a good swift kick to the nuts for that one. Why the hell does every last bit of culture have to be sweet and happy.

We have one of the best haunted houses in the world not far from where I live. It's run by two actual makeup artists, one of which was my husband's roommate one year in college. They have an emmy, I'm assuming from DS9. They've done tons of horror flicks (mostly B movies, I think). I'd never go, but I'm thinking about sending my husband so he can tell me what it was like.

My, how brave! :P

I've been to haunted houses, haunted forests, haunted hayrides, you name it. I've had the living shite scared out of me and loved every minute of it. I say that if you wanna dumb-down Halloween, you seriously need to get a life.

Does anyone know of any spectacular 'haunted theme places' in the northeast US? I've traveled around a bit to see many of them, but I'm sure I haven't seen them all.

Sweetheart, I won't watch horror movies. The scariest I'll watch is Lost Boys and Army of Darkness. We rented Resident Evil for my husband to watch and tell me if I could watch it. I don't deal with scary things very well. Or blood or gore. Anime gore isn't that bad because I know it's animated.

I'll go out on a limb and suggest the P stands for "punk", as in "punk-ass". Or don't people use that phrase any more? I can't remember.

Don't forget Safety Dance.

On Haunted Houses, up in Austin I think, there is a 3 or 4 story Haunted House that you have to sign a waver to get it in. If you make it to the top you get your twenty bucks back. They accually toss you out the windows in this place.
