Jutland 90th Anniversery

Post by Bob McDob »

I'm surprised nobody here mentioned this, but Wednesday was the 90th anniversery of the Battle of Jutland, the only full-scale clash between the Royal Navy and the High Seas Fleet during the Great War.

Any thoughts on this?
That's the wrong way to tickle Mary, that's the wrong way to kiss!
Don't you know that, over here lad, they like it best like this!
Hooray, pour les français! Farewell, Angleterre!
We didn't know how to tickle Mary, but we learnt how, over there!

I think most of us old-timers have been Jutland-ed out over the past couple years; the only "news" about Jutland that's come up of late is the hideous state of scrapping going on at the wreck sites...HMS Invincible's bow section is gone!

SMS Lutzow has been without propellors for many years now, as well, and those two examples are only that; examples of much larger operations.

This scavenging is obliterating these war graves.
