What can I do with lime juice?
During my last grocery run I'd intended to pick up a bottle of lemon juice. Unfortunately, I didn't look at the label too closely and ended up with lime juice instead. I don't want the thing to go to waste, so I'm asking you guys if any of you know of something I can make with the stuff. Thanks.

Use it for cooking salmon steaks & fillets. Oil the salmon and rub with some herbs & spices along with salt & pepper, dust with some breadcrumbs, the fry it in a non-stick pan. Add some lime juice when you're almost done cooking, let it boil off & soak into the fish a bit, then serve & enjoy.
Or you could drink it and make whiskey faces. Or make margaritas. Or add some to various softdrinks for extra flavour.

I like it on fish, myself. Even so, I've found it's largely interchangeable with lemon juice, if not for exact taste but effect.
"The rest of the poem plays upon that pun. On the contrary, says Catullus, although my verses are soft (molliculi ac parum pudici in line 8, reversing the play on words), they can arouse even limp old men. They say, "the tree of liberty must be watered with the blood of tyrants and patriots." I suppose it never occurred to them that they are the tyrants, not the patriots. Those weapons are not being used to fight some kind of tyranny; they are bringing them to an event where people are getting together to talk. -Mike Wong

Actually, in relation to this--Dalton wrote:I find that it makes my rum&coke a little smoother going down.
The reason a bunch of spiffy restaurants/hotels will give you a glass of Coke with a slice of lime on the side, is because lime cuts down on bubbles, allowing for a smoother and easier pouring process. No need to start, stop, start again repetively. Probably has something to do with the above rum and coke going down smoother as well.
EDIT: Of course, all these suggestions for mixing it with alcohol are moot if Iguana here doesn't drink...

Rum & Coke with lime does make for smoother - in mixology its a point of fact that rum goes great with citrus - its also called the Cuba Libre.

Mix a bit with avocado, tomato, onion, and salt. Now you’ve got tasty guacamole.

I'm going to miss bartending, then again the little things don't pay me back, like the $2.00 a day I spend on limes due to my bosses not thinking to buy any, or the $15/week I spend of dinner mint candies.
what really pisses me off are the kids that grab whole handfuls of both and dump them into their water, or just eat them as regular candies, don't you know peppermints and choclate peppermints are to be savoured after dinner, not to mention the limes are for the beer, I only buy enough for my barcoustomers, if you grab half my lime bowl (contaiminating the other half) you kinda ruin it for everyone else.

Ahh yes having to buy all the stuff your boss neglects. I have never had a bartending job where I didnt have to do that. The Yosemite Bear wrote:I'm going to miss bartending, then again the little things don't pay me back, like the $2.00 a day I spend on limes due to my bosses not thinking to buy any, or the $15/week I spend of dinner mint candies.

Actually there is a drink shot called a "Chocolate Cake". What you do is you mix a shot made of 1/2 Frangelico and 1/2 Vodka. Take the shot, hold it in your mouth, and then suck on a lime or drink a bit of lime juice. Mix it in your mouth a little and swallow. Damn thing tastes just like chocolate cake, it's the craziest thing.

it;s worse in a bar restuarant, so you have kids running up to the "adult section" and trying to grab things, last week I saw a pair of hands reach over the counter and knock over a glass of wine, trying to steal it for a sample...
