Even in Indiana, we got some. It's been snowing nearly continuously at various concentrations (mostly flurries) for the past two days, and we've accumulated several inches of powder.

Got about 20" where I live in the dirty Jerz. Yesterday morning I was watching some poor schmuck digging his way into the parking lot from the road. I had no idea why the hell he was bothering; he could've just parked on the side of the street. I decided to see how things were, so I cleaned off my truck and made my way easily out of the parking lot. I'm sure they guy gave me a dirty look as I plowed through 15+ inches of snow with no problem.

In all, I'm glad I got to use my 4WD, even if I didn't have to go anywhere. It makes the shitty gas mileage slightly less annoying to be able effortlessly plow through 1+ feet of snow. Slightly.

We had five inches of snow on the ground yesterday; the roads were ice; and it was freezing out.

Today, the high was in the low forties; there's two inches of snow; and the roads are clear.

Damn, I love Indiana weather.

Yea, it really sucks here at Stony Brook too. It went from 30 F to 50 and I only have my heavy jacket with me.

Well I'm finally back in after harrowing adventures driving through this snow since it had to occur on a fucking DRILL WEEKEND. Basically it means that I got a taste of both Philly's snow and the snow back here in Maryland where COlumbia (my home) recorded a local record of 21." Basically I've been fucked over sideways since last friday and coupled with a power short frying my one rickety HDD I've spent until just about right now trying to put everything back together. So basically YAY snow.

Today the high will be 42*F.

What the bloody fuck is going on with the weather?
Oh, and there was a "Wind Advisory" last night warning of possible 40mph gusts. And believe me, I heard those hit the house a couple times last night. One of them blew so hard it ballooned the plastic covering my kitchen windows and knocked things off the shelf in front of it!

It's not too cold here (+5C yesterday, flash freeze last night), but my car was practically an ice sculpture this morning and we've had two 30-car pileups on our highways, three dead, and people trapped in cars. They're actually warning people off the two major highways here in Ottawa.

When the Canadians start getting fucked up by snow and ice, run for the damn hills.

A prime example I can think of would be yesterday here in West Lafayette... weather was really nice for late winter, just a stiff breeze but not really that cold, and then later it turns to fast winds and freezing rain.

I must third it. It's like the entire northern US is undergoing a huge cold snap. I was watching a news report earlier today and it's freezing pretty much everywhere north of . . .well, New Orleans.
