Toss up between Al Pacino in Devil's Advocate and the guy that played Satan in End of Days. Both were very well done, imo.

Gabriel Bryne.

The guy who played Satan in Constantine wasn't bad, and it was a nice change from the usual.

Bah, The Lightbringer was nothing compared to Gabriel (played by Christopher Walken) in the Prophecy series.

Constantine was Peter Stormare (more commonly known from Fargo). He was pretty cool with his "boys will be boys" talk about his son. But Pacino was better...

I'm surprised no one's mentioned Max von Sydow in Needful Things.
What's really ironic is that he also once played Jesus in a movie.

Ah yes, he was good.

As for Constantine.. I dunno, I had mixed feelings. He alternated between sloven and powerful and it was a good mix and definitely something different and deceptful. But my mind always has a preconceived image of Satan as being a creature of refinement and power.

Well the power came out pretty well when he blasted the shit out of Gabriel, cutting his/her/its wings. For the rest he was a pretty slick devil.

De Niro as The Devil in Angel Heart. He has this quiet darkness about him and hje's always smiling at his own private joke. By far Satan is a more interesting character in general than God or Jesus could ever be. I mean what symbolizes man more, the guy on a cross or the guy that took on the unbeatbale and went down swinging?

If only because he's the only one I can actually recognise, Mel Brooks from Little Nicky.

...What? It's not like I can remember a better choice out of those films I've seen (or remembered, more accurately).

Mel Brooks wasn't in little nicky that was Harvey Keitel. And one of my favorites
Didn't George Burns play the devil once.
He played both God and the Devil in Oh, God! You Devil, he has the one of the most amusing conversations with himself. IIRC it was the end of the 'think god' series of movies where George played god in all of them. He had a line to one of his 'messengers' that amused me no end.

"Why me why not just tell people yourself."
"I tried that once, what I said got so confused more people were killed over it than ever before."
"Nobody ever inferred from the multiple infirmities of Windows that Bill Gates was infinitely benevolent, omniscient, and able to fix everything. " Argument against god's perfection.

Probably Ned Flanders.

"The Prince of Darkness sir, he's your one o'clock."
"Oh no, oh yeah, tell me how can it be so fair

Just for breathing in the air they wanna leave me in the chair
Electric shocking body rocking beat streeting me to death"

It's always the one you least suspect.

Meh. I'll pick Lucifer in Constantine, largely because I haven't seen any other movies (including most of the ones mentioned in this thread) with particularly memborable Satans in them. However my favourite Satan ever DC's Lucifer.

Also, a quote from a fim critic a rather naff Italian horror film which was on SBS a few years ago.

"So the Devil turned out to be evil. Who'd have thought it?"
After all, this is completely straightforward. What could possibly go wrong?

THIS LOOKS LIKE A JOB FOR EMERGENCY PANTS!

I hate Matt Damon and there's not a damn thing you can do about it

No, I'm not on drugs. I'm like this all the time.

I'm going to go with the devil from Constantine. That devil was just badass.

I retract my previous statement in light of "Alone in the Dark". Hollywood's Satan is obviously named Uwe Boll.

To be fair, the character that he was based on wasn't Satan/Lucifer.
