Not really. More power is nice but by now on-orbit docking and assembly are well-proven technologies. Assembling another moon mission out of bits small enough to fit in the Shuttle, on Titan, or Proton would be awkward and expensive but not impossible. A Saturn V-class ELV would make things easier but isn't essential.The Dark wrote:With my regrets to Tim Allen, we need more power.
What we really need for another moon shot is a lower cost to LEO. $10,000/lb to LEO is just too expensive for even the US to afford a moon shot given current political and economic realities.
