Why do peoples' extremities go cold while playing games? Is it becuase blood is shunted from their to the brain? My biological knowledge is incomplete and I seek enlightenment.

Anyway, for me at least, it's only if I'm made nervous or creeped out by what's going on in the game. It doesn't just happen when I'm playing games, but whenever I'm doing anything that makes me nervous. Like the first time I looked at porn. As for what causes it, dunno. Something to do with adrenaline, perhaps?

Hmmmm... And another thing, I find that I am able to completely ignore outside conditions (heat, stuffiness, hunger, even thirst) when I am into a game.Is this like some form of self-hypnosis or what?

What type of games are you talking about? I do know that the brain is supplyed with an more oxygen rich blood during times of intense concentraition, but so much more that the extremities suffer a decrease of blood? I dont know.

I do know that in a cold inviroment the female and male circalatory systems operate are differently. Female bodys direct more blood to the internal organs than males. Male bodys direct bood more evenly.

When I play UT sometimes it happens. Especially when i'm trying to nail some fool dodging behind cover with a rocket launcher so I sidejump and fire, hoping to land the rocket where his feet will be.

I think if this happens when playing UT its because of poor circulation to your hands. Your probably sitting in the same position for too long. Do you get mouse hand? (aches in the hand) Do your feet get cold?
