This just in: Muhammad A Terrorist! Falwell a dumbass!

Just saw this on Yahoo! News and couldn't believe my eyes, and I've had just about enough with Fundamental Hate Christians in the past two weeks to go on a rant about it, feel free to disregard this post if you want, I'm just blowing off steam. Really.

Jerry Falwell (god I wish he'd fall down a well), has recently called the founding Prophet of Islam a terrorist, and then he went and said, "Jesus set the example for love, as did Moses," (FYI Jerry, 'Love' and 'Moses' should NEVER go in the same sentence). This is the most bigoted thing I've seen in a long time, and in the past two weeks I've seen some bigoted things.

Moses, our example of peace and love, had thousands killed for victimless crimes, his God struck down thousands more in plagues that he engineered, and Moses, being a paragon of love, PRAISED this God for doing these things. Of course Jerry Falwell conviently forgot those parts of the Bible when he called Mohammad a "a violent man, a man of war."

This isn't the end though, Jerry Falwell has a rather large, rather ignorant audience who follows his every word like its straight from JE-SUS himself. A group of yokels recently decided to come to my university (Mankato State University, Minnesota) and decry abortion. Now I've got nothing against free speech, and if you want to spend your time trying to force your opinons on somebody else, more power to you. The two things that really pissed me off were the wonderful posters and huge signs they brought along, and the children they trotted out to help sway our judgment. The posters and signs had the usual Hate Christian rhetoric about how every sperm is sacred, or a beating heart is a living heart, but the really disturbing part was the pcitures they had to go along with this mindless rhetoric. They were pictures of-- you guessed it --aborted fetuses. I'd never seen an aborted fetus before, so at first I was a little shocked and sickened, as most people are, but the really shocking and sickening part came later, when I noticed a few young children wandering about the crowd collecting donations and handing out pamphlets and acting as if the huge signs of dead children, hanging in the background, were nothing new or interesting.

Jerry Falwell, a man who promotes this kind of hate mongering amongst his followers (yes, the group WAS from a Baptist Church, of which Falwell is a leader), was criticized after 9/11 for commenting that the Terrorist attacks upon the United States were caused by (among other things) rampant Internet pornography. When asked why pornography is wrong Falwell insists it promotes fornication, and that it corrupts the youth of America. Of course, when pictures of aborted fetuses are used as evidence that abortion is murder, its not pornographic, and the children who worked the crowd that day weren't corrupted at all. Bullshit.

In conclusion, this really was just a pointless rant that I used to blow off steam. If Mr. Wong wants to delte it for it having no real social redeeming value, and taking up too much space on his Board, he most certianly can.

Geez, I wonder if Falwell ever read the quote "to fight evil with evil is evil"? I wonder if he would be suprised that it was Mohammed who was the source of these words.

Falwell and his like have been demonizing America's opponent du jour since the Soviet era. Now the target happens to be Islam, and I am not a bit surprised to see the very same bilous hate-mongering horseshit that he's beeen spouting for years redirected to it.I grew up in a Southern Baptist church, in a Southern Baptist town in eastern Tenessee. Garbage like this is why I walked away from it and never looked back.

Well, Fawlell has the usual religous hypocrisy: He points out violent acts in the Koran, and then ignores violent acts in the Bible, or uses them as proof that gays are evil. Next time I see a JW, I would enjoy a nice debate with them, and watch them run away crying. Perhaps, they'll leave their pamphlets behind for me to use as firewood.

Hearing about falwell brings back bad memories of when I found one of his books in my grandparents house and actually read some of it. Of course I was too young to understand it at the time but now i realize my mistake and have regretted it ever since.

I have friends going to MSU, I hope they tried their best to kill a few of those protesters. And I hope they don't come to Duluth, i am having enough trouble dealing with the Chi Alpha students for christ.
