Looking for abortion dilemma that was posted in SLAM

Post by Haruko »

As the title suggested, I am not really seeking help in a debate. But for an abortion thread at another forum, I was hoping to present a dilemma that was posted in SLAM months ago. In that dilemma, there is a burning house, but time only to save a couple of fetuses or a baby. Does anybody recall this? I was unable to find it despite several searches. I think, also, that Surlethe may have posted it, or have been involved in that thread. I'll try PMing him about it.

Why? If you already know the dilemma why do you need a copy of it?

It was probably a fertility clinic is on fire and you can choose to save a baby inside or another wing that has tubes full of fertilized embryos. How many tubes does it take for you to ignore the baby?

I actually anticipated that question. Yeah, I feel I got the gist, but I love the way it was told, and I know it was much longer than the sentence I gave.

Thanks to Surlethe via PM I got a better one-sentence version of it. Frank Hipper apparently originally posted it.
